    Opinion varies on Margarito-Williams

    By Kevin Iole

CARSON, Calif. - The media covering the Paul Williams-Antonio Margarito WBO welterweight title fight had a varied opinion on the outcome:

Kevin Iole, Yahoo! Sports: Margarito, 116-112

Tim Smith, New York Daily News: Draw, 114-114

Steve Springer, Los Angeles Times: Draw, 114-114

Bill Dwyre, Los Angeles Times: Margarito, 115-113

    Steve Kim, MaxBoxing.com: Margarito, 115-113

    Doug Fischer, MaxBoxing.com: Margarito, 115-113

Jerry Magee, San Diego Union-Tribune: Williams,
    116-112

Robert Morales, Los Angeles Daily News: Williams,
    115-113

Carlos Arias, Orange County Register: Williams,
    115-113

David Avila, Riverside Press Enterprise: Draw, 114-114

    Francisco Salazar, *********.com: Draw, 114-114
From what I saw it was not enough from Williams to take the belt from a champ. Marg came on late and Williams was not doing any damage just pitty patting Marg.

Exactly. Maybe the press row was sniffing glue the entire time but no way Marg won that fight. Sorry. How much Williams won by is arguable, but he clearly won.

Am talking about facts here mate, Bob Arum SPONSORS...Yahoo!sport/Kevin Iole, Whether he critise Margarito or not is for another debate...I dont know or see why he would critise Rito anyway, Rito hasnt lost for years apart from the Williams fight and he has been impressive in about every fight apart from the williams fight.

Maybe you can link us with some of his articles where he critise Rito.

Dougie fisher and Steve Kim chearleads Latino fighters and hate on Black fighters.

I remember Steve Kim made an article called "Thank god for Mexican fighters"
He was taking shots at black fighters in a covert fashion. And i remember him making borderline racist (You could argue full blown racist) comments about Zab Judah.

Dougie Fisher did`nt even go to see Williams training camp for the Margarito fight in Puerto Rico. But he went to cover Margarito training camp for the Williams fight.

Every time a black fighter beats a big name or well known Latino fighter he always makes excuses for the Latino fighter.

Last week in his monday mail bag he said Margarito overtrained for the Williams fight.

Dougie went all the way to Japan to cover a Edwin Valero fight which is a (ten hour flight) but could`nt go to Puerto Rico to cover Williams training camp.

One time Andre ward got dropped in a fight and this guy wrote to him about it,Dougie replied by saying"Andre Ward might be the next big bust"When Cotto did his little dance after being hit by the super puncher Corly he talked about how Cotto showed a lot of heart.

And Dougie fisher is half black and half white.

Dougie and Steve Kim Critisized Roy Jones and Floyd for their level off oppositions but never criticized Hatton or Calzage who took a very long time to step up their level of opposition.

I wrote to Steve Kim about the borderline racist remarks he made about Zab in one of his articles. He replied to me by calling me a "Al Sharpton mini-me"

Beautifully stated. 100% agree and I think Tony Margs is a really good fighter. Watch in the rematch its gonna be another close fight but I see Tony coming out on top and all these PW /Floyd nutt huggers are gonna say the same thing, well press row had williams winning, oh he hurt his hand, or my favorite waht fight were they watching PW clearly won and he is the stronger puncher
                      hahahaah
