Margarito started very slowly in their first fight and didn't even give himself a chance to get a decision by giving away the first 6 rounds. But once Margarito started to be a little more active and pressure Williams, he started to take over the fight and land the more damaging punches.

Ever since that fight, Margarito has vowed to be more aggressive and he has lived up to that promise. He ran over Golden Johnson in 2 minutes. He broke Cintron down again to knock him out within 6. And his relentless pressure from the opening bell broke down Miguel Cotto, one of the best fighters in boxing today. With Margarito putting on the pressure from the opening bell, he'd either win a one-sided decision over Williams or knock him out late. Williams doesn't have the power to back Margarito up and doesn't have the defense to avoid Margarito's best shots.

If I were Paul Williams, I would try to land fights with guys like Clottey, Judah, Mosley, etc. These are solid opponents, but they're more beatable than Margarito is right now. I give Williams props for wanting to face the best and being one of the few men to openly call out Margarito, but this is a bad career move for him.
