If I Were Paul Williams, I Would Not be Calling Out Antonio Margarito

Yeah, Williams won the first fight. But in a rematch, you just have to favor Margarito. Margarito started very slowly in their first fight and didn't even give himself a chance to get a decision by giving away the first 6 rounds. But once Margarito started to be a little more active and pressure Williams, he started to take over the fight and land the more damaging punches.

Ever since that fight, Margarito has vowed to be more aggressive and he has lived up to that promise. He ran over Golden Johnson in 2 minutes. He broke Cintron down again to knock him out within 6. And his relentless pressure from the opening bell broke down Miguel Cotto, one of the best fighters in boxing today. With Margarito putting on the pressure from the opening bell, he'd either win a one-sided decision over Williams or knock him out late. Williams doesn't have the power to back Margarito up and doesn't have the defense to avoid Margarito's best shots.

If I were Paul Williams, I would try to land fights with guys like Clottey, Judah, Mosley, etc. These are solid opponents, but they're more beatable than Margarito is right now. I give Williams props for wanting to face the best and being one of the few men to openly call out Margarito, but this is a bad career move for him. Margarito will not only beat him, he will beat him up...

Williams just wants the attention. He doesn't care if he gets his ass beat.

It's understandable that Williams wants his name in the spotlight now that Margarito has made a name for himself. But Margarito has earned his shot at a big Payday.
For the Williams nuthuggers the fight will happen in 2009.

He barely won a decision in a fight Margarito wasn't motivated for. Same thing can be said for Williams during his first fight with Quintana.

Williams didn't look motivated in that fight. But in the rematch he blew Quintana away because the motivation to get back his title was there.

Motivation is EVERYTHING in boxing understand that!

Wasn't motivated for?? Williams was talking about whooping his ass in sparring, and Margarito vowed to shut him up. On top of that, he knew if he won he'd fight Cotto. Hahaha nice try buzzard. UNDERSTAND THAT!

BTW, Margarito got outboxed by Cotto the first 5 rounds 2 weeks ago. And he started off slow vs Cintron. Margarito is Margarito. He will never change. Where as Williams gets better and better. Williams will beat the **** out of Margarito this time and I hope the odds are in Margarito's favor so I can cash in.

Too bad Tony doesn't share your confidence..lol

Williams beat Tony in his first big championship fight.

He'll do much better in the rematch..that's why Tony is running like a scalded dog..

Floyd fought a close fight with Castillo and gave him an IMMEDIATE rematch...too bad Tony don't have balls like that.

In boxing motivation is everything. Williams performed beautifully against Quintana in the rematch because Quintana took his title. Margarito will come into the rematch with Williams knowing he lost his title to him. Margarito finished Cintron in 6 rounds how is that starting off slow? Williams win over Margarito was a fluke just like Quintana's win over Williams was.

                Understand That Little Williams nuthugger.
