i can't predict exactly how it will go, but i'm sure Roy Jones will have his moments and i see him catching Calzaghe flush on numerous occasions, but Calzaghe should be able to stand strong and work his way to a UD
How Will Calzaghe v Jones Play Out?

i dont see there being a KO in this fight yes RJJ has power but calzaghe has an iron chin, and although RJJ has a weak chin calzaghe doesn't have the same power he used to. in fact there might not even be a knockdon in the sifhgt, if there is to be a stoppage it is likely to be in favourofcalzaghe - i can see calzaghe overwhelming RJJ maybe late on in the fight to a point where RJJ doesn't respond with any punches of his own.
anyway RJJ knows that he is quicker and probably has more power in his punches - he will try and counter the flurries with a single clean shot a bit like bernard, RJJ will obviously try land the straght counter right as well. Maybe he will attempt to go to the bdy of calzaghe and hope that it slows him down later on in the fight - alot of fihters ave attempted this but it has never really come off - but jones can land 4/5 punch combos and maybe he can tag calzaghe and slow him down later on. Jones still has great speed and joe has never really had great balance when he has to come forward and be the aggressor (e.g. hopkins, mitchell) so RJJ will be looking to keep him at bay and off balance with his jab, he should also look to throw them 3-4 punch combos when joe does come in and then quickly move out of the way, as he could potentially score a KD. What RJJ musn't do is fight off the ropes and let joe take centre ring...
joe will be looking to get RJJ on the ropes and take control of centre ring himself. by doing so he controls the pace of the fight and late on in the fight his superior stamina will mean that RJJ will find it hard to live with him. joe will have to be wary though RJJ is quicker and more to the point doesn't have single good punch unlike (kessler, lacey and hopkins), RJJ has power in both hands so joe may need to switch his tactics more often and look to overwhelm him with punches.
i see joe taking a SD, i don't think he has the same handpseed as he did vs lacy, sheika and veit, RJJ may not be the same fighter he was but he is definently better than what most people are assuming.

Dude, that's ****ing freaky! That reads just about word for word exactly what I would have said.I posted this several weeks ago.
I think Jones will come out looking to end the fight early, he'll be throwing straights and combos early to get Calzaghe's respect and to not let Calzaghe get into his rhythm, I think Jones can win some of the early rounds because of this.
After about 4 or 5 rounds, Jones' legs will start to show their age and Calzaghe would have adapted by then and he'd start to push Jones back to the ropes to unload punches on him, Jones will be trying to counter Calzaghe off the ropes at this point with moderate success, I think he can catch Calzaghe once or twice on the way in or when Calzaghe gets wild.
But I don't think it'll be enough, Calzaghe's workrate and pressure would get to Jones late because Jones can't fight 3 minutes of every round anymore, Calzaghe can.
Calzaghe should pull away from rounds 10-12 when Jones' age will start to make itself even more apparent.
Calzaghe by decision, something like 116-112 or 115-113. Close but clear.
Damn, I need to be quicker.Comment

I see Jones winning the first few rounds by outboxing Calzaghe from the outside. Then i see Calzaghe stepping up his pace, getting on the inside, and fighting his fight. When Calzaghe starts to impose his will on Jones we will see exactly what Jones has left. Jones will either go into a defensive shell and Calzaghe will win a ud. Or i see Jones outboxing Calzaghe for all twelve rounds and winning a ud. I think this fight depends on what Jones has left. So i see it as a 50/50 fight.Comment
