my views manny, margarito, oscar and other

I wanted to talk about what seems to be very populare in this site and that is haveing double standards. im not saying everybody does it but we do have many that do have them. i would take this time to say sorry for bad spelling and grammer (but if ur not my english teacher then piss off about it). here are some things i have noticed:

    1. when mayweather vs oscar was announce many people were mad about it, they said why is he fighing de la hoya he is past his prime and nothing in that division anymore, but know it seems it would be okay for margarito to fight him. Why is it okay for margarito to fight him but people were mad when floyd did it?

2.Margarito want the big money fight with oscar but i think, a rematch with williams or cotto would be better for him. i belive daniel santos beat margarito maybe he can fight him on his way to a rematch againt williams or cotto. i think beating the guys who beat him would be great foe his carrere(not couning the guys from when he was a kid.)

    3. Has anybody thaught about margarito vs mayorga, mosely or hatton? might be fun.

    4. People are reacting big time about the manny vs oscar fight, i dont think it should happen either. I do however think that the weight issue is being over played. Here is why

    A. Manny did go pro at 106 pounds, but he was 17
    B. Manny in many fights has come in after makeing weight around 140+(not sure in exact number.
    C. Tito faught roy jones at 170 when tito when pro at 140.

i guess what im trying to say is, that the weight that they went pro at is not the big thing, its the weight they were there best in. Mannys best weight was 130 and looked great at 135. De la hoyas best weight was 147, he faught in other weight classes but 147 was his best. Maybe im crazy but if you look at it the way i just did the weight becomes 12lbs maybe 17, not going on the fact that manny always rehydrates to a higher weight.. Also oscar might struggle to make weight so that can make things a bit more fair.

i would personaly like to see Mosely vs De la hoya at staples, both haveing there last fights.

    margarito vs williams

and i would like to se guzman vs pacman, i belive arum bitched out when guzman beat soto, he didnt give the fight to the winner like he said he was.

The whole double standard thing has been beat to death by PBF fans who can't stand hearin anything bad about him. It's been said many times nobody cared that he fought DLH once, just doin it again pissed people off. Who gives a **** about santos? Marg needs to rematch Williams. No point to a Cotto rematch right now. Marg-Mayo is a fun dream fight but an irrelevant one. same for Marg-Hatton. A fight against SSM wouldn't be bad as long as it's after Williams. **** DLH-Pac. Pac-Guzman at LW is a good fight if Guzman beats Nate. And a farewell trilogy fight between SSM and DLH ain't a bad idea, but Shane's got more fights left in him than Oscar, who clearly just wants $. All this imo homey.

      1. People are still in shock by the spectacle they saw of him beating Cotto. For a month or so Margarito will be a god, until they realize that hey he still has to beat Williams.

      2. I disagree about Santos, the first two ended prematurely from headbutts. I don't think people want to see a third headbutt fight. Getting a bad cut like that and losing to a guy who probably has his number at a higher weight is bad for his momentum.

      3. Margarito vs the Mosley-Mayorga winner would be intriguing, but who are we kidding about Hatton. He can't hang with the best.

      4. Yes Tito fought Jones at 170, but that was all about money. He knew just as well as everyone else did that he couldn't beat Jones in this lifetime or the next. Pacquiao did turn pro young at 106, but he was old and mature enough to win a belt at 112, 122, and 126, which were weights that DLH never fought at. We don't know how great Pacquiao is at 135 because he fought a scrub.

Tito started at 140 but his best was at 147-154, he dont belong anywere higher than that there for pac shouldn't go higher than 135. PAC has plenty of competition there, fighting dlh is pointless

Solid post. Do you think if Margs could land a DLH fight that he should take it. I do. I think he deserves a payday that that fight would provide. If he can't (I know Oscar has already said no) I would settle for Mosely, Berto, collazo, Clottey, or Cotto. But I hope he goes after a illiams fight first.

i am a fan of floyd, but thats not why i bring up the double standard, because i like floyd but disgree in many things with the floyd nuthuggers. If you go back to when the Floyd vs oscar fight was made you would find treads about how floyd should fight, cotto margarito williams mosely. but know that margarito took over it seems he shouldnt have to fight those same guys? as much fun as margarito vs oscar could be, im a big oscar fan but if he beats margarito and the retires then 147 would be up in there air for anybody to take it over. with cotto defeated, floyd retired, oscar retireing, williams looking at fights at 160, margartito is ontop, hes calling the shots. If some how the fight happens and oscar pulls it out then retires, then the strongest person left would be berto and collazo. i would rather have a champion who is not going to retire. i guess thats what im trying to say

it took the pound for pound king to knock him out. i think if he trains and can recover(i personaly think he hasnt) he can give people a good challenge. he wasnt allowed to do what he likes againts floyd because floyd is very skilled very crafty. put him it againts berto, zab, clotty, cintron, and quintana i think he would do very well, might even impress some one
