Margarito: "I'll Beat De La Hoya To Avenge Chavez"

WBA welterweight champion Anotonio Margarito spoke ESTO during a recent trip in Tijuana, Mexico, and told the paper that he wants to fight Oscar De La Hoya so he can avenge his idol, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. De La Hoya fought Chavez twice, when the Mexican legend was well past his prime, and gave him beatings on the way to stopping him in both fights. Erik Morales was present as Margarito received an award for his recent knockout win over Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas. [details]

Oscar did say he would fight the winner of Margarito/Cotto so why is he not doing so?

Margarito is right on this one.

The fact that Margarito is still calling Oscar out means they aren't in negotiations and Oscar is fighting Pacquiao. The day De La Hoya-Pacquiao is announced is going to be a sorry day to be a boxing fan.

Lol. If he has ANY chance at a fight with De La Hoya, it's the Mexican angle. Margarito is playing the angle well.

Otherwise, the 4 million for the Williams fight is a decent offer.

Whatever works I say. If it gets Oscar's blood boiling and willing to fight Margarito I say go for it.

DLH is scared **** of Margarito....
If ever DLH-Pacman goes through... how I wish Pacman will get lucky and beat DLH...
If DLH wants to end his career in a respectable manner he should fight Margarito... win-lose or draw.... he will look back and say, "I fought the best out there."
But this fight with Pacman will make him worse than PBF...
