"I hear it did in the 460,000-500,000 range, which would be a grand slam. Cotto's previous high was 360,000 vs Mosley" - Steve Kim

I wouldnt be surprise if people like steve Kim/doug fischer or the other guy from Yahoo bump up the numbers just to let it look good, Even HBO has been known in doing that as well.

Well Dan Rafael said 400-500k and Kim said 460-500k, these guys don't just go by what Arum tells them.

I'm not surprised the fight did so well, putting them on the HBO card together then the nice countdown show pulled in some nice casual fans.

Lets not forget all the new Filipino fans Manny has brought with him since becoming a mega star in his country, I have read of plenty of flips saying this was the first time they got a PPV that didn't have Pac as the main event.

i think those numbers are close to reality with the popularity of both guys with their respective fan base, plus the fact that its a step closer getting the No. 1 WW on the planet...

Am not dis*****g the numbers but wouldnt be surprise if those guys that i listed bump up the number to make it look more attractive...fischer/kim/rafael and kevin Iole(Arum sponsors in website) all these guys are in coalition with Bob Arum and its a well known fact within the boxing media.

"Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told me the other day the Manny Pacquiao-David Diaz lightweight title bout did between 225,000 and 250,000 buys on HBO PPV. To put it nicely, Arum is ever the optimist. I asked industry folks who are far less prone to exaggeration than Arum and was told that the fight will be lucky to crack 200,000. Lucky. It just goes to show you that no matter how great Pacquiao is, without a known foil he can't do serious business on his own."

                      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rafael and Kim seem to be tight with Arum but they don't do his dirty work, Iole seems to print things to the highest bidder.
