Margarito EARNED his ****in shot. Who was Cotto gonna fight? PW, just got beat and redeemed himself. Cintron lost to Margs. Clottey lost to Margs.
Dont come with this bull**** that Cotto GAVE him a shot. There was no one else for him to fight. He HAD to fight Margs. And Margs a Mortal Kombat fatality and took his heart.

Cotto could have told Arum "no Way", but he stood his ground and took an ass whupping for it. So no, Margarito shouldn't thank Arum. Cotto put his undefeated record up against "the most avoided man in boxing" and knew full well he could end up getting beat down. I tend to admire boxers who are willing to put their records and reputation on the line for their fights, unlike schmucks like Floyd Mayweather who spent their championships fighting bloated light welterweights (Hatton) and overrated old light middle weight MexiCANTs with no titles to their name (De La Hoya).
I'm a boricua who rooted for Cotto, but I accept that Margarito won fair and square. It was a great fight, and both these boxers showed a lot of class. They didn't disrespect each other or piss on each others' flags. Why should we as fans start acting like fools just because of who won?
Margarito deserves credit for his accomplishments at 147. He's toppled two Boricua Welterweight champs this year (Cintron and Cotto). He deserves the respect of my island brethren. But let's not make any claims of Mexican superiority as Margarito DID lose to Daniel Santos.
Bottom line? Puerto Rico and Mexico produce great boxers, and great boxers produce great fights. So why not focus on that classic welterweight championship we just witnessed. It's going to be a while before we see another classic like that again.
