He coulda dodged him like everyone else and what the **** would you guys be posting about marg now?, and i know that there is some marg hate going around too, especially that steroids bull**** but if anything marg fans need to thank cotto for giving birth to margarito.
i don't think people have anything against cotto. its just fun to bash on cotto because of all the **** talking that everyone had to endure from puerto ricans.

it has to get worse before it gets better. don't cry too much, it'll all go away once cotto wins his next fight. it's all "what have u done for me lately" bull****.

Margarito EARNED his ****in shot. Who was Cotto gonna fight? PW, just got beat and redeemed himself. Cintron lost to Margs. Clottey lost to Margs.

Dont come with this bull**** that Cotto GAVE him a shot. There was no one else for him to fight. He HAD to fight Margs. And Margs a Mortal Kombat fatality and took his heart.

just like floyd mayweather had to fight him, or oscar dela hoya, or shane mosley, or zab judah.

There was no one for Cotto to fight. Who would he have fought? He beat Zab, PW lost and won and was trying to sign number 3, Cintron got KO'ed. The only other person was Oscar, and Oscar wants BIG money.

not really sure if margarito earned his shot. he beat cintron who he already spanked and fought golden johnson.

imho cotto didn't have to fight margarito and he might've scored the dlh fight in december.

Cotto could have told Arum "no Way", but he stood his ground and took an ass whupping for it. So no, Margarito shouldn't thank Arum. Cotto put his undefeated record up against "the most avoided man in boxing" and knew full well he could end up getting beat down. I tend to admire boxers who are willing to put their records and reputation on the line for their fights, unlike schmucks like Floyd Mayweather who spent their championships fighting bloated light welterweights (Hatton) and overrated old light middle weight MexiCANTs with no titles to their name (De La Hoya).

I'm a boricua who rooted for Cotto, but I accept that Margarito won fair and square. It was a great fight, and both these boxers showed a lot of class. They didn't disrespect each other or piss on each others' flags. Why should we as fans start acting like fools just because of who won?

Margarito deserves credit for his accomplishments at 147. He's toppled two Boricua Welterweight champs this year (Cintron and Cotto). He deserves the respect of my island brethren. But let's not make any claims of Mexican superiority as Margarito DID lose to Daniel Santos.

Bottom line? Puerto Rico and Mexico produce great boxers, and great boxers produce great fights. So why not focus on that classic welterweight championship we just witnessed. It's going to be a while before we see another classic like that again.
