wlad fights in a very weak HW division. it's hard to say how great he is in comparison to truly great HWs because he's gotten KTFO by heavyweights that wouldn't last 3-5 rounds in a decent-good HW era.

      He should take more risks.

There are quality in that division and American fans does not understand that pal. Unbeaten Russians are not big in USA, but they are unbeaten and looks nice on Wlad's record.

i dont want you (or anyone else on this forum) to take offense to this but...

Wlad more than likely will never get the respect he probably deserves.

despite KO ratios or his win/loss record; etc he will always be underrated to an extent because there is no real tough competition for him out there...the heavyweight division (currently) is average AT BEST.

With no real tough challenges how can he be given credit?

sometimes they say, "well maybe wlad is just that good he makes his toughest competition look boring and easy"...

            no...

everyone thought (or majority i should say) that sultan was going to be his tough fight...it was going to be a big showdown in the division and it turned into a jab fest as if they were scared to mix it up with each other.

who can really be talented and skilled enough to REALLY test wlad?

my best guess is if david haye can be (which is yet to be seen) a good heavyweight...if he can hang with these guys that are so much bigger than him i think he would be skilled more than 90% of the current heavyweights easily.

if haye can be a successful heavyweight that might be wlad's only real big fight.

sam peter is second...which im not sure if he can beat wlad...maybe give him a decent fight...

truth is when it comes to modern heavyweights majority of them seem to have terrible conditioning (almost every round they are out of breathe and hold...use 2-3 punches...then get out of breathe again and hold...) the skill level just isnt there as it were in the old days with guys like ali, frazier, marciano, louis, tyson, holyfield, etc etc etc. (i could go on forever).

Today its different...it seems almost as if some of these guys walked off the street and into an arena and fights are decided strictly on strength.

its almost turning into the butterbean era of heavyweights...seriously.

i havent seen so many boxers as out of shape and lacking of skill in one division in my life...seriously...no offense to anyone here...just my opinion.

heavyweights use to be the cream of the crop when it came to boxing...today its MAINLY (not only) in the welterweights and lightweights...

i personally admire wlad (wouldnt call myself a fan but if i have to pick a heavyweight fighter to watch fight it would be him...he's most talented out of all of them in my opinion) but think that until the fighters get their acts together he's going to sit at the top making pretty easy defenses of his title because the competition just isnt there.

              Ali
              Foreman
              Lewis

All would win by KO. Ali broke down opponents and his ability to stay inside the pocket and not get hit by smothering punches. Wlad's size would work against him against Ali. Ali's speed would be too much. Foreman's power would obliterate Wlad. Lewis would do what Lewis does, come in with a smart plan(if he took him seriously) and break him down KO him with his glass jaw.

                Good post italian.

We need to keep on discussing this becuase it is a serious issue. how does Wlad fair against Ali, Tyson, Holmes, or Marciano? he would beat rocky handily. hes too slow and small in my humble opinion. no offense to anyone.

Wlad is serving Lennox and co drinks at the table of kings. Wlad won't get a seat at that table.

Lewis ducked Wlad and when Sanders shocked an unmotivated Wlad, it gave Lewis the chance to turn down Wlad without looking scared the way he was. I think we all know what would have happened don't we?
