Retirement seems to be working well for Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather Jr. who amassed fame and fortune in the boxing ring, certainly doesn't need boxing these days. Recently Mayweather Jr. went on record with the Grand Rapids Press discussing some of his recent spending.

Mayweather Jr. made about $100 million in gross purses, but admits he has made much more outside of the ring. In fact Mayweather Jr. is doing so well that he recently acquired some high end purchases. Purchases such as a brand spanking new Jet aircraft worth an astounding $26 million. If ruling the Skies in a brand new jet isn't enough, Mayweather Jr. can also be king of the waves with a brand new Yacht worth $20 million. Mayweather Jr. also recently scored himself a new home in Vegas worth $18.5 million, plus another home in Miami costing $11 million.

Mayweather Jr. doesn't credit his latest bout of spending from his earning he made in the ring, but rather the money he has invested. Mayweather Jr. plans on being a Billionaire by the end of this year, telling the Grand Rapids Press: "I was truly, truly blessed to have good people around me and I was smart during my career. I made great investments. By the end of this year, I should be a billionaire."

Mayweather Jr. added: "I went from the ring to Wall Street, that's all I can tell people."

I for one am happy to see Mayweather Jr. doing so well in retirement. I wish all boxers would be fortunate enough and smart with their winnings from boxing. I hope Mayweather Jr. enjoys all that money has to offer him...but I also hope he remembers he made every penny he has, including what he is making on Wall Street, from the money he got from the pockets of hard working fans who paid a small fortune for his Pay-Per-Views. People who work 40 hours a week and more just to survive. Real ****in People. Mayweather Jr. may have all the God given talents that made him an awesome boxer... but all his money came from the fans. The kind of fans who support Boxing and make it impossible for Congress to pass laws banning Boxing. Without those fans, their support, their money....then Mayweather Jr. more than likely would have ended up a penniless Bum on the streets of Detroit. Sure, these days he'd like you to think he is a smart Wall Street Bloke... but come on! Who is Mayweather Jr. kidding?

In the end, Boxing doesn't need Mayweather Jr. Boxing never needed Mayweather Jr. It was Mayweather Jr. who needed Boxing.
    Who is Mayweather?

Grain of salt...He also talked up his $20 mill purse for Wrestlemania which was complete BS as admitted in WWE's quarterly financials. Regardless, rich is rich.

Well if he made 100 million in purses and even lets say 200 million in investments which I call horse ****, he still spent a quarter of that already. 75.5 million off 300 million. He is going to be broke in no time, because someone is lying to him about his investments. Plus some of those purses were made before, he probably has made in the last few years 80-90 million. Taxes on that **** alone would be outstanding especially since taxes are yearly. I say we see him in the ring mid next year at this rate.

In any case if he doesnt take more conservative positions one day risk will probably catch up with him (hedge funds have a short lifespan for example).

Investments in growing countries have high returns and are not that risky if you have the appropariate connections (ie: local organized crime)

Anyway if I had to bet between TRUE and BULL****, I'd take bull****.
Venture capital is the only way, Hedge funds don't bring back that kind of investment and you aren't going to find to many spots allowing you to throw in 50 million that much at once could seriously rock the boat. Even so being in venture capital and making 900 million is ridiculous, especially since we know he was have a hard financial time in 05. I wouldn't be so against this concept except he made the majority of his money in the last couple years when the economy had peaked.

Mayweather is a smart business man. He got the idea for 24/7, shows how cunning he really is. But a billion is a bit too much. Maybe a couple for Millions like an extra 10 or 20 million.

                  Let's all keep it straight.

Gayweather typifies what an American punk is.

He talks big yet runs like a coward.

He insults people yet when challenges faces him he stutters and runs to his trainer's balls like the classless punk that he is.

He has admitted that he is a coward indeed.

He cares for money before legacy.

He cares for money but not to the extent that a challenge will face him. Otherwise he wouldn't have ducked a 8-1 purse advantage against Margarito.

His fans are uneducated ******s who has puts no value on dignity, legacy, courage and honor. And their parents should be shot for not teaching young kids like idiot fake FLoyd fans some COMMON SENSE.

Although it is no wonder really.

If a coward like Bush who avoided Nam duty can pass as a president and then talk big about going into war yet lies about it... so much more that these ******s can get fooled by a trash-talking punk in Gayweather.

                  No wonder.
