Bad matchup for Hatton. Sure he's the better boxer but he'd have to be defensive for 12 rounds to beat Margarito and he ain't that kind of fighter. He gets stopped within ten for sure but I don't see how he can realistically beat Margarito.Comment

by staying close and maybe picking him off with a body shot, margaritos v big thoComment

Hatton would die a horrible and gruesome death. I'm afraid Ray might want to jump in the ring to save Ricky, only to be standing face to face with death as well.Comment

Cotto never tested him in close and never went to the body, he always gave Margarito enough space to get his punches away. In truth, Cotto likes to punch from a distance, Hatton (especially in his later fights) doesn't, he likes it in close. I think he's got a shot but Margarito is very very big guy compared to Hatton.Comment

Cotto stood a better chance at distance. Margarito was clearly better in close. Perhaps he was too defensive and Hatton's stamina is better as well, but it's not Ricky's style to stay out of trouble and he would certainly be in trouble late on, though I think his foot movement would bamboozle Margarito in the early running.
Put it this way, I would watch the fight and wouldn't totally rule out a Hatton win, especially by working to the body.Comment

As for the "scorecard" in your sig, you do realize that the three official judges had it 89-81, 89-81 and 88-82 all in favor of PBF at the time of the stoppage, right? Hatton was never even in the fight, to be honest, and you are a pathetic joke.Comment
