I think he should retire as well, but he's not shot....He just fought one of the best p4p to a very close decision...He's just a shell of his old self but fortunately for him that's good enough to compete. That does not say much about the division.

Heh another keyboard warrior? :-) I'd like to see you say that to either one of them, and then get in the ring

not that its more important, its moreso, the way he won the hopkins fight. wasn't impressive at all, and many ppl think hopkins won...................and he's 43!!!!!
therefore, the same ppl who doubt calzaghe's abilities before that fight, still do.

so joe fights roy jones, and hopefully will look better, erasing doubt.......

Actually the best way for Hopkins to know that he should retire IS to fight Pavlik. When the fight ends with Hopkins being more ****** up in his career than he ever has, he will know it is time to call it quits.

Hopkins should have called it quits already...

Listen, B-Hop was a great fighter but this is getting out of hand. He should have retired after he beat Winky (wish he promised him Mom). Taking the fight against Calzaghe was for money, and now he wants a young, hunger, and basically unstoppable Pavlik...no way! He is going to get hurt and be punch drunk. I wish De La Hoya would look out for a for his partner (maybe this is his way for getting back at B-Hop cuz he knocked him out in the 9th round in '04. All B-Hop is doing is chasing pay checks with his name.

Any another thing...what right does B-Hop have to challange Pavlik...he lost his last fight! Plus Pavlik beat Jermain Taylor twice and B-Hop lost to Jermain Taylor twice!

This is not a good match up...Pavlik has gotta fight the other two belt holders (Abraham and Sturm)...then challenge Calzaghe for three legitimate world championships at the same time. This would put Pavlik into the record books for being the best fight of all time!

                Just my opinion...

pavlik/hopkins is happening because they want to set up pavlik/calzaghe.

abraham and sturm need more US exposure. they should fight each other on the undercard if possible.

************************************************** **hopkins is a legend, and that's what gives him the right to fight pavlik.

some say he lost to calzaghe, some say he won, but the fact at age 43 he is still fighting the best fighters (name 1 bull**** fight hopkins has taken in the last 4 years) and whenhe loses, the losses are very disputed, gives him the right to fight pavlik..................
like hopkins's style or not, until some1 beats him convincingly, he has the right to keep fight whenever and against whoever, for how long-ever.

and i dont give a **** if pavlik beats a 43 y.o. hopkins, beats abraham, sturm, and then a 38 y.o. calzaghe, that hardly qualifies him as a GOAT.....

Hopkins.. your one of my favorites.. please dont fight Pavlik.

Why? Your my dawg Hopkins.. you had a great career.. your a legend.. you proved the naysayers wrong against Trinidad and Tarver.. then came up with a special recipe for Winky.. but you looked old your last fight against Calzaghe.. Calzaghe didnt look good and he still beat you. I know you got an ego man... and a great history behind you and a great belief in yourself.. but Pavlik is brutal.. surgical with power and he's mean in the ring. If he hurts you.. which is highly likely then he's not going to try to hit your body.. he's going to try and decapitate you. Did you not see the way he bounced Jermain Taylors head? Did you not see you Lockett anguished with those body shots.. iits ok to retire.Your last good fight was Tarver. You started to look less effective against Winky then against Calzaghe? OLD. Dont do it. If you do Pavlik is not just going to knock you out.. he is going to brutalize you.
