Forget Kellerman or Merchant, get rid of Lampley!

I will admit I almost did.
But I almost teared up as well with Morales vs pac 3
Just to see Erik Morales go out like that was painful for me I thought it would of just been a decision loss.

Lampley was awful, I agree. There was even a point where Margarito landed 5 punches in a corner, then seconds later he said something like, "Cotto still landing flush shots, but Margarito isnt landing anything. Will the judges score for pressure?"

He had a horrible night. I didnt think it was that bad until I watched it again. Kellerman and Steward wer eon point though.

That said, I wouldnt trade him in for any other commentator. Maybe Gus Johnson. Lampley catches the excitement like nobody else, and his good moments outshine the bias ones.

Not just that, there were moments that Kellerman and Steward were talking and all a sudden outta nowhere Lampley would cut them both off and immediately say, Cotto lands a hard! Or some dumb **** like that. ALWAYS cutting them off followed by something he said about Cotto. I was like, wtf? How can they be letting this guy get away with this ****. It was so annoying that I can't even watch the fight with the audio turned on anymore. Gotta play some music and watch

I wonder if he had a wager going on...and wanted to influence the judges..because he is so loud that they can hear him..remember when gayweather was answering his question while fighting bruseles...i think lampley lost big dough that night...that is why he was crying...

Thankfully there is no chance that even two of the three judges could have heard Lampley.

I agree Pacman it was very disturbing there was a moment in round 6 i believe or 7 where Marg landed a very big body shot that hurt Cotto , and you could tell that Cotto was hurt it took the wind out of him ,it was a huge body right hand on the ropes,Lampley instead focused how clean and crisp Cottos shots , I cant believe it either Bro its disgusting the way he was being so biased and let him get away with it, Im glad he cried like a little gurl

I know Lampley can be biased with certain fighters, but he's the best blow by blow guy there is. Lampley for life.

He ****** in that fight, but overall he's ok. The fight's wouldn't sound right on HBO without him on there.

Jim Lampley is the best!

They should get rid of Max Kellerman. He adds NOTHING positive or good to the broadcasts, and his voice and comments are annoying.

Although I was disappointed about the accusations of domestic battery by his former girlfriend and while I think he is an ******* of a person I think Lampley is one of the best boxing commentators today.

Lampley has always been biased to fighters he's liked, but this isn't to say he does a bad job. He's as human as anyone and there is no one I can think of better in all of sports who calls a better event. Without Lampley's voice and his dramatic style HBO wouldn't get a penny out of me. He alone is the sole reason I subscribe.

It's also worth noting that while he has demonstrated bias to one fighter or another, he has never just flat out favored a fighter without merit and rarely has shown a favoritism for the sake of showing it. Even Roy Jones earned Jim's ire when he punched Griffin on the canvas.

Throughout his entire HBO boxing broadcasting career he has always shown favor for the "gutsy" type of fighter. Gatti, Holyfield etc. Guys who take chances and show they want to fight; in this case Cotto was no different, he'd shown a history of fighting with passion and Lampley obviously appreciated that.
