Taylor beat an 85% version of Hopkins (first time was sd, then UD), 2 times, Calzaghe almost lost to a 60% version of Hopkins...
there is a reason Joe Calzghae is still undefeated

OK everyone, real talk time.
Calzaghe is a class act. He ruled SMW for ten years, I'm sorry if you're not aware of his opponents, they never made it to the top because Calzaghe was occupying it. He stuck around to take out the next generation of champs at his weight too, despite being pretty old, and succeeded. Now he's moved up to a new weight and beaten the best guy there, and guess what, still not a loss on his record.
As for boxing skill, well, I hear a lot about Joe's punching power. I thought you people were boxing fans, not high school ******s. Then again, a lot of you did think Miranda was good. How about speed, smarts, heart, all out boxing skill. Not aware of this? Oh, you haven't actually seen any of Joe's fights? Guess you don't realise he's beaten almost every single opponent he ever faced at his own game.
You may not like it, but its the truth.Comment

Well it wasn't meant to be. I think I am generally quite respectful of Mr. Calzaghe... I always come to his aid when people discredit his wins over both Lacy (he was known as a monster when Joe signed the fight, nothing changes that) and Kessler (who I think is easily the second or third best fighter from 160-175).
It was more meant to be disrespect of such a lame alt, making a lame bait thread that was meant to piss people off.Comment

how did he rule SMW? He never fought Jones, Hopkins or Toney in their Primes...Calzaghe is a class act. He's still not fighting this generations best, he's fighting the generation before him (Hopkins) and he's fighting a 40 year old Jones.

1) Calzaghe and Toney never could have fought. Toney was at cruiser by the time Calzaghe won his first title in 1997.
2) Hopkins was a weight below Joe for their entire career and stayed there. Calzaghe couldn't make 160. When Hopkins did move up he skipped Joe's division. He also priced himself out of a fight in 2001.
3) Jones was at LHW by 1997.Comment
