still though don't you think that sopcast and the other forms of free streaming cut down on potential buyers.

as im sure a fair amount of people on here (me included) didn't help the PPV cause.

and besides that the fight itself wasn't really promoted and hyped up all that much.

sure it had a Countdown show, but what else?

and Cotto's robotic personality is hard to appeal to the casual fan, and well Marg isn't a household name either.

Sopcast have nothing to do with these P.P.V buys...Just like they had nothing to do with the P.P.V buys of the Pacquaio fight against JMM, or Diaz.Or Mayweather-Hattton in december

        No excuses..

If these fighters have real fan bases Their fans will or would have order the fight...!!!

Just like other successful Fighters fans do..!!

First of all your posts aren't very fun for me to read because of the annoying style you write them in.

Second, I don't believe that you don't want to see anyone (especially a welterweight) be a draw other than Mayweather.

Third, your own sig clearly shows that you bet against the PPV putting up good numbers.

How does this shape up as one of the greatest fights in history?

The P.P.V numbers have nothing to do with the quality of the fight i agree.
but the only reason this is even a topic is because The P.P.V arguments was used against Mayweather for years into reason why he shouldn't fight de la hoya. And how Floyd doesn't have a fanbase because he only did 325,000 P.P.V buys with Carlos Baldimir

So now it is crazy to see those standards put on cotto and his fans dont like it.

how can you say that Sopcast has "nothing" to do with the PPV numbers

think about it, if the streams or other free methods didn't exist

people would have to pony up and actually pay for it.

it's the same thing with pirating music. if Limewire or Kazaa or what ever Illegal music program u wanna name didn't exist, the music companies wouldn't complain because people would have to get music the old fashioned way. (purchase)

sorry for that random comparison. and you're right that if the fighters had large fan bases, those fans should get the fights

but how can you shrug off the fact that people have the ability to get PPV fights for free? (one way or another)

the above takes away potential buyers. and the same was probably true for the other fights you named

                  because I saw PacMan-Diaz and Mayweather-Hatton
and didn't pay a dime for either.

I made a thread about that which asked why they are so inrested in the monetary sides of things. They root against anybody but Floyd.
