    What does that make Hopkins?

I love ****** ass logic like this.
Mercado was in his prime and Mercado isn't being called a joke, Joe was dropped by a 43 year old "joke". Also, Hopkins was robbed in that fight I have never seen anyone score it for Mercado or a draw, Hopkins clearly won the fight.

And Hopkins clearly should have won the 1st fight anyway. It was Mercados home town and they only managed to give him a draw...

Sucks that the video has been posted here about 30 times. Sucks even worse that the "joke" Hopkins has a resume that trumps that of Joe Calzaghe's and will go down as legend while Joe will not. And what sucks even worse than that is Hopkins at 43 put Calzaghe on his ass and almost pulled out a decision.

But ain't Hopkins like fine wine??? I thought his peak was when he was in his forty's ???? so why is his age being brought up in relation to calzaghe?? that seems silly IMO
And for the record i think Hopkins is a great fighter !

Your saying that Hopkins was in his prime at 43?

And Calzaghe is in his prime at 36?

Calzaghe is better than "Joke" Hopkins, face it.

I am still wondering if Hopkins was hurt with something becuase he has never ran like that in his entire career, even when he fought bigger punchers than that. I guess i have to wait until he has a book out because i won't find out until then.

Are you assuming that Calzaghe and Hopkins were equally past their prime? Becuase Calzaghe just beat Kessler a few months ago, who was a very good young champion and Calzaghe did nothing to offset his younger legs. He out boxed and out worked him. Out working a younger fresher fighter is not signs of being past your prime. Hopkins is at a stage where he knows that he cannot match his opponents workrate so he does different things to offset it. Calzaghe was never past his prime IMO and is actually better than he was when he could actually punch becuase he is more versatile. Hopkins's best days are clearly behind him. I like both fighters, but Hopkins beats Calzaghe prime for prime.
