What Richard Steele " claimed he concerned for Meldrick's welfare but to stop a fight within 2 seconds whats that going to accomplish? Chavez couldn't get his ass from 1 corner to another to punish taylor even more for 2 seconds.

Richard Steele did this to perserve Chavez' undefeated record-and Gain the money he had invested in King for his promotional work

I think he could have lasted 2 seconds.

If you watch the replay they had bright red lights in the ring corners to let everyone in the ring know it was the last 10 seconds. The chances of Steal not knowing that were zero.

Look, I'm going to be real here....

Was it a questionable stoppage? Yes...no doubt. Only beacause he was so close to winning the fight if it had not been stopped BUT....

If you watch that fight, Taylor was recieving a brutal beating to the body and head by chavez and was throwing nothing in return but arm punches.

Richard Steel asked him are you ok.....are you ok.....and Taylor didn't even look at him. He just stared at his corner wondering what was happening. The rule is, if you don't respond to the ref when being asked if you are ok, he will stop the fight....Taylor never responded.

Also, if taylor was knocked down in the middle of the ring and not in the corner, I doubt he can make it up. He used the roped to hold himself up and to get up. He was a beaten man and it showed in the rematch when Chavez destroyed him.

You lose period because that's the name of the game. Try applying that logic to any other sport, if a basketball team is leading the game throughout but the opposing team mounts a comeback and makes a three pointer to take the lead with seconds left... they win! There is no, they "deserve" a win about it. A knockout is a knockout regardless of whether it occurs in the first round with 2 seconds left or the last round with 2 seconds left. Taylor was unable to respond, Steele made the appropriate call, there was time left on the clock, Chavez wins.
            First off, paragraphs.

Second off, that whole basketball analogy is moronic. It makes no sense at all as boxing is scored differently then basketball. Even if it did make sense, if there are seconds left on the clock the other team would still get a chance to come back after the go ahead 3....

At that point the damage was done Steele added insul tto injury by stpping it with like 3 seconds left in the 12th. taylor was winning on the cards but losing the battle in the ring. Chavez was landing some ferocious blows to the body and head thump...thump....Watching the fight on you tube I have a hard time imagining this guy taking all that punishment....Like I said if Steel didn't stop it after the 11th RD he shouldn't have stopped it with 2 seconds left in the 12th.......

lol, so you're saying meldrick could have knocked chavez out in the last three seconds? NO, it was over Chavez wins. If Steele had intentionally allowed the clock to run down in order for it to go to the scorecards he would have been favoring Taylor instead of making the appropriate call.

No one could have hurt anyone in the last 3 seconds thats why he's saying let them fight. It would have gone to cards and the man who control the fight for the most part would have won.
