Viva, Marg would have been stripped. I don't think it would have made him less a fighter to have fought Cotto at the time, but he honored his obligation.

As far as Joseph goes, he knows his **** and has been around. We don't always agree, but he's sharp.

Okay so.. let me get this straight. Tony had a chance to fight Cotto but chose to fight Williams instead to keep his belt and have a mega fight with Cotto soon after. He lost the fight and the belt so he fought and KO'd Cintron, who was a belt holder at the time, to have another mega fight with Cotto. He TKO's Cotto, who is at the top of his game and was at the top of the welterweight division, and now he wants to fight De La Hoya, a guy who can bring MILLIONS, let me repeat that: MILLIONS, to the table to get another career high payday not to mention they are in the same weight class. Someone please tell me how he is ducking Williams?? Please I want someone to logically tell me what Tony is doing wrong here.

There is no logic, people are just upset that Cotto wasn't able to prove their "Margarito is hype" theories.

ODLH is not in the same weight class as Margo. ODLH hasn't made WW in years. Nothing is wrong with Margo trying to cash out with ODLH he deserves a big pay day, something however is wrong with him considering on fighting the winner of judah clottely. But at ww the fight that needs to happen is williams margarito 2.

You're right, there is no problem with him trying to cash out. Margarito/Williams will happen.

No he didn't. He fought him because he was making a career high purse at the time and thought he was getting the easier fight. What else is he gonna say to the press "I took this fight because it was easier and I am getting more money." Nooooo

Also I don't think he would have made more money fighting Cotto the first time around then the second time.

Marg made about 80% of a 1.85 million purse and then a bonus from Tutor himself. Marg only made about 1.5 million when fighting the Cotto a year later. Margarito's stock went up when he trashed Cintron and Johnson again. Not that bad, but since he got a career high purse against Williams I think he realized that he deserved more money against Cotto.
