Cotto loses one fight, and everybody says he is done, has been exposed, will never mentally recover from this loss, and wasn't as good as most people thought or rated him.

If the internet had been around when Robinson was fighting, I would have loved to see this forum after LaMotta beat him, or when Turpin beat him, or when Maxim knocked him out.

It's kind of ridiculous how fighters who 95% of this board have not seen fight are rated as legends and fighters who fight now are considered exposed at the first sign of any weakness. I wonder what kind of tune some posters would be singing after some of Robinson's losses. I have a feeling that the greatest fighter of all time would get tons of more criticism than anyone could ever imagine.

But you made the point people would critize him. I think most would realize that it was the sun that did him in. Of course you would have the haters etc.

I think Marvin Hagler would be hated on a lot more if he fought today.
