When i said that i was referring to the Holyfield video i posted where he spends pretty much the whole interview preaching.

I mean that Holyfield video i posted is a great example of taking it to the extreme, he doesn't answer any of the questions properly all he says is "yeh god made me do it, he's the man who got me through it" and so on. If he's going to do that then what's the point in accepting to do a post fight interview, nobody cares if god got him through the fight.
No, no one tunes in to hear that but as a viewer you may forget that these guys are in life and death battle. Boxing is far different than any other sport, in fighting there is a much stronger chance of injury or death than the others. I think we tend to forget that and just look at the entertainment aspect of boxing. I feel that if someone lays their life on the line they can thank whoever they wish and you should respect that.

I do respect that, but answer me this one question. Why do they never thank god for them being safe when they lose?
Surely even if you lose you should thank God for keeping you safe in the ring that night without any serious injuries. It only seems to happen when a fighter wins.

Also, at no point in the fight would a fighter be thinking about God, they would be thinking about what their opponent is going to do next and how to overcome what they are going to do or what punch they are going to throw next.
          Your obviously an ass.

God has more to do with it then your giving credit. He blessed the fighter with the oppourtunity to even be in the situation to get the fight. He blessed both fighters win or lose to be as healthy and in as good of shape as they are in. Because there's tons of people who would love to be in their shoes. God gives everyone the strength to train. Maybe the fighter feels God blessed him and gave him extra strength or luck because when his back was against the wall he got some sort of boost never seen before (which would be a blessing).

Maybe the fighter is thanking God for the money to support his family. Boxing could have saved the fighters life. Without boxing what would that person be? Life could've been rough and boxing was the only way out. There's tons of scenarios but basicially anyone fighting on big time tv should be thankful. So why not thank God?

And if it bothers you so much fighters thank God, in your case a fighter you obviously like, thanks God, then why dont you just shut the hell up and turn the Tv off and never watch them again? Instead you took time to find videos of past fights you've watched and put some thread up and supported why fighters shouldn't be thanking God.

Get a life. Preferrably with GOD involved. I'm no everyday chruch guy but man this whole discussion is ridiculous. You have to much time on your hands.

Im all fine with Boxers thanking God, if that's what they believe in im in no position to tell them otherwise. But I honestly feel and if you look at in a logical sense, God had absolutely nothing to do with a fighters success from his training to the eventual fight outcome. The person that really should deserve the credit are himself and the people close to him, his family, certain friends and his trainers. They were the ones that belived in him, and supported him and helped him achieve success. Combined with his own personal determination to make a name for himself and make a better life for his family. That's the beauty of human beings no matter matter how harsh your situation is anything can be accomplished if you put your mind to it.
