I think you're a little harsh on Hatton (and I'm no fan either), he's not in my P4P10 but he is still a world class fighter. Incidently I am certain he'll beat Malignaggi, even at 80% of his best. He battered Tszyu into quitting - Kostya Freaking Tszyu! Even a past it Tszyu is a decent win in my books. Castillo was past it, but a decent KO all the same. Take your points about Maussa and Urango. Personally I thought he beat Lazcano convincingly, the judges certainly thought so too.

He's not one of my favorites, but it's very ****** to make a thread calling Ricky Hatton a bum.

He's a solid B+ level fighter, and has an abundance of heart and determination.

Hatton is the biggest bum on Floyd's resume. He only fought him to silence the critics who actually though Hatton was world class.

I think 'bum' is a harsh term to use. Hatton is not an all time great or anything like that, but is not a bum. No way would a bum beat the great Kostya Tszyu, even if he was old and inactive. He has fought ok opposition, nothing incredible but not bad, in his career. Urango, Collazo, Maussa, Tszyu were champs at the time Hatton beat them.

I agree with you about the hype about him being was too much, But i would not say a bum. I think he is a good fighter who has done pretty well, but is not a great by any means.
