He would have lost a close decision either way, but at least in neutral territory he would have not gotten careless and TKO'd.
It has been discussed throughout this forum after the Lazcano fight that Ricky has declined due to a poor diet or ring wear.Whatever it may be,is pure speculation but you can not deny that Hattons activity has decresed severly in the Lazcano fight campared to his other bouts. He looked dead tired going into the 12th and was rocked by a similar check left hook in the tenth.Weebler one of Hattons biggest cheerleaders said "Ricky was only hurt in that fight due to stamina problems" and he is the expert on Ricky so I will take his word for it.In response to the Hatton never getting carless enough to be knocked out comment,if Ricky wasn't allowed a shoe lace break to tie his shoes maybe Lazcano could of finished the fight in Hattons hometown with Hattons own ref?

no, hatton would of just clinched lazcano into he recovered... similary like what he did against collozo when he was close to being dropped. lazcano had no stamina himself to finish hatton off, though it was awkward timing for the ref to jump in, even if hatton fell to the floor, he WOULD of got up for the 8 count. (but i think he would of clinched him).

I agree Lazcano was hurt in that fight and was dead tired as well.He wouldn't of got the knockout but he definitly could of got a knockdown.Even with that the judges gave Hatton every round so it wouldn't of mattered anyways.

I watched that fight with British and American commentary. The Americans made it seem like Hatton was in a world of bother and they had me believing them whereas the British barely picked up on the idea Hatton was hurt but acknowledged he took a big shot, they also had me believing them that it was nowhere near a knockout. It just goes to show how much commentary influences you.

The truth? well i guess only Hatton knows.

I don't think floyd senior would be the right type of trainer for ricky.

Didn't Floyd Mayweather Sr say Mayweather would "Gatti" Hatton?

But, then there is no chance of a fight woith pacquiao taking place. Hmmmmmm tough one.
I agree you cant teach and old dog new tricks , when a fighter is on his game he does things in the ring without thinking about it when you start trying to get him to do new things that are not naturally in his make up he thinks about it and generally shells up to some degree as a consequence he is getting countered , this is what is happening to Oscar and why all his trainers are saying he is slow on pulling the trigger , Oscar is thinking to much about new stuff , Hatton would do better with Margos trainer than a Floyd snr type trainer .
