For one, i dont give a **** what MMA fans think about anything other than MMA.
For two, cotto was on his bike the whole night, was he "running" yes and no, he was on the move trying to use the whole ring, but when he got tired he would get caught up against the ropes, he did his best to exchange when he needed to.
When floyd fought baldomir, and i seriously do not think you saw this fight, floyd exchanged, in vicious fashion for about the first 6-8 rounds, after baldomir began to look frustrated, he simply stopped throwing and mayweather pot shotted to an easy UD, with DLH he really didint run a whole lot, for the most part, maywether was generally stationary that whole fight, he moved when he needed to, but there were many instances where de la hoya simply stood there and looked at him because he didint know what to do. That fight was alot of one punch landing and counter punching, it wasnt the most exciting fight and it didint live up to the fight, but it wasnt as bad as people make it out to be, it was decent and thats about it.
Either way you talk about the latino crowd, you have to understand, in a fight like that with national bias in mind, neither of those guys are going to be booed as long as there is any type of action, puerto ricans have a history of guys like Wilfred Benitez and Edwin Rosario who could use the whole ring. Its MEXICANS who have that style bias to where you need to come foward all the time and give it all or nothing. How do you think Ivan Calderon even draws crowds in puerto rico with practically no knockout power and he is definately a pure boxer with little to no power.
Either way Cotto was using the whole ring, the difference is, he was getting hit, floyd wasnt, Cotto was stationary against the ropes getting nailed with body shots, this rarely happens to floyd.
Regardless, floyds entire career isnt judged by 2 fights, except on here.
