THen why has CBS in your opinion embraced MMA

      No.

Margarito BACKING him up all night was the problem. He didnt choose to do that.

imo cotto fought the perfect fight
for a fight billed the battle cotto did run and move a lot, i never once saw him take a step forward and try to engage tony
the only thing he could do better is clinch a lot and go to the body, but he will be exposed to tony uppercuts if he did both of those things

Margarito ran Cotto ragged in that fight. In a rematch Cotto could fight for 6-8 rounds or he could run and box for 9-11 rounds again but either way he gets taken out again.People don't give Tony enough credit for the amount of body work he did in that fight from the 1st till the 11th and the way he took away Cotto's body shots by defending his body so well all fight and the great use of the uppercut. The man beat the best body puncher at his own game and got the better of a faster shorter armed fighter on the inside. That fight wasn't about what Cotto did wrong but about what Margarito did great.

I had seen that they had dropped in ratings and was both happy and saddened by that news only because with MMA on a major network I felt that another network may combat CBS by putting on some Boxing cards..

I am a fan of MMA but not EliteXC. The two shows they put on for CBS were really rather poor.

Cotto did everything he could, and it wasn't enough. Margarito will break him down in a rematch again and stop him in the 10th or 11th round.
