Why Isn't Cotto Targeted By Top Fighters????

Why Do You Think That Everyone Is Not Just Firing On Cotto, Not Even Floyd? Why Is That? Do You Think That They Are Just Smart Not To Fight Him, Or Do They Want To Wait For Some Reason? Well, We All Know That Only Waiting Makes Cotto More Exp. And More Stronger!

ofcourse hes being avoided a bit
hes a very strong and talented fighter
im guess alot of the fightersare waiten for someone else to give him his first real test
then once they have a chance to study him with good opposition
im sure many more will call him out
or take him up on his challenges

i think he needs to be more asertive of who he wants too
he always says he leaves that up to his team and managment
to me thats kinda like "i dont really care"
and not in a good way
almost like hes not entirely motivated to fight top guys
i wanna see him call come names out

The man's now in the no-man's-land between getting noticed and getting ranked high. He's to good to fight unless he's up in the top two or three, in which case he would be made a mandatory by one of the alphabets. As of now, a win over him would do nothing to improve the top fighters' rankings, and he's too dangerous to take on without much reward.

Cotto could beat a top fighter and its a reason to void him but i think promoters know he`s still young and they want his profile improved so that he can rake in the big pay days.
He isn`t gonna be thrown in with Mitchell, Tsyu or hatton for that matter until its the amount of money that`ll pay divides!

I think there is 2 reasons why Cotto isn't fighting top guys yet.

            1. His people do not think he is ready.
            2. The top guys have nothing to gain by fighting him.

there's a lot of talent at 140 right now...i don't see Cotto having any problem getting a top fighter in the near future..remember he and mayweather are the two top fighters property of TOP RANK right now...maybe Arum is waiting for those to to clean up the division and then make a mega match betwn them..plus i believe that Cotto will move up to 147 pretty soon..

Boxing is a business where risk/reward are weighted very heavily. There is no reason to put Cotto in with Mayweather or Mitchell right now but they would go for any other person in the weight class, including Harris and Tszyu. Miguel is a very confident fighter who takes his time and systematically breaks down his opponents. It's not that he's not motivated, he just would rather leave that to his trainers, just like Tito Trinidad leaves it to his dad and Don King.

As for Mayweather being afiliated with Top Rank, last I heard he was still a free agent. That is why he doesn't have any fights lined up right now.

Does anyone know why the fight with Corley didn't happen? I wish we could see that instead of his fight with some nobody (past his prime Randall Bailey) on the Klitchko PPV.
