What point is to bring up that Cotto is a powerful puncher and that Margs walked through his shots....in the context of a Marg/Tito discussion and then deny that you are comparing Tito and Cotto's power?

Wmute, I hope you know this. Everytime Tito got dropped it was by counters. When Tito (One of the hardest punchers at 147 ever) throws a hard left or right hook and gets counterd, your own power gets used against you.

I know that, and Margarito has the countering ability of a blind bat. But when you throw 100 punches per round some of them are going to land right where and when they should.

Look I hate sloppiness in boxing and Margarito is sloppy as hell, but his workrate and his chin (not even his power, which is overrated), make him a threat to pretty much anyone who can realistically make 147.

Even a great boxer would have some trouble, because of the workrate. Countering and slipping 50 of Margarito wide ass shots per round is easy, 100 not so easy. Even if one of his right hands takes about a coffee break to arrive.

true......Marg gets wasted at MW.....no arguments there.

Thats probably why his chin is so good because he really should be fighting at higher weights instead of taking WW shots

definitely not china, definitely not great. I know that you are pointing at his getting up and start walking down the other dude again. But it was not just balance. His knees were buckled a number of times.

Anyway my take on this, is that even if he could take it better than Cotto, he would eat more leather than Cotto, because Cotto boxes better.

the guy had 45 fights and 9 above welterweight. even his one ko loss wasn't a real ko but the exhaustion , i got nothing left type.
