I didnt see a lot of openings for Cotto. Margarito was pretty much contempt just protecting his body and eating punches with his head.

He became too obsessed with trying to hurt a Margarito who was wide open for heads hots.

With all due respect Cotto just couldn't land those body shots cuz he was constantly on the move, you cannot throw effective body shots when you are back peddaling, you don't have a stable ground and can be caught off balance and get KO'd. Cotto lunges and plants himself when he goes to the body, he couldn't do that against Tony, his guard was visibly lower than usual because he expected Cotto to trade on the inside at some point but I guess the opportunity never came for him. If Cotto would of stand his ground and thrown body shots at Tony I think the fight would of probably have ended earlier in favor of Tony.

Cotto was not running for his life, he was boxing and using his superior boxing skills. Also, Cotto just didn't throw many body punches......I dont know if its because he was landing at such a high percentage to Margarito's head or what but there was not that much body work on Cotto's part this fight.

I kinda agree, but he did stand his ground sometimes.
The story for most of the fight was Cotto moving around, Margarito cornering him and Cotto throwing a flurry right before moving again.

For the few moments he did stand his ground, he could've thrown some bodyshots. He just didn't.

let's see how many body shots cotto throws after eating a few uppercuts......

Cotto chose to fight on the outside to take advantage of his superior handspeed. If he had been able to do more damage to Margarito it would have been a good plan. If Cotto fought on the inside trying to get to the body, he probably takes more flush shots and goes out even sooner.

Cotto was on the move alot, counter punching, it is hard to land the body shots on the move I think.

Also, if he was gonna tag Margarito with mean body shots, he would have to get inside, and that is where he got destroyed.
