sometimes its better to stay down and fight another day//cotto taken those knees might have saved his career and his life..think about it whats the point of having a belt if you cant even remeber your own name?

his job is the fighters safety, and OBVIOUSLY it should have been stopped... where is taylor now? he can barely operate because of that fight.
It wasn't just that one fight that damaged Taylor. It was an entire career of beating and him moving up in weight fighting people that he shoudn't. After that fight, he stepped up in weight and fought Terry Norris at junior middlweight(who was on the pound for pound list and is a hard puncher with good boxing skills) and even till this day, he is still an active fighter. His management just made some ****** decisions.

I just wouldn't stop a fight when a fighter was clear enough to beat the count and only 5 seconds are left on the clock. Chavez wouldn't have got across the ring and Taylor would have left untouched, had his title and retired with a win over Chavez. That is why he stil fighting, becuase he still feels that he has something to prove.

That special that i seen on him was actually a while back, even then he still hasn't offically retired and still has a boxing license. That record still shows that he has been stopped multiple times and fought 12 years after his loss to Chavez. It wasn't just that fight that made him the way he is today.

Go ahead if you want to, but make sure you include the fact that he was stopped again by Chavez in the rematch and plenty other times in his career to add on to it.
