Can Cotto bounce back from this loss?

Seriously, I really don't think he's done or anything like that, he's still young and prime and obviously has the skill and heart to continue winning, but how would this loss affect him mentally? he didn't lose a close decision, instead he got beaten up pretty badly. We all know fighters get ruined after a loss like this, specially undefeated young fighters who are at the top of their game, they lose that confidence and start to doubt themselves. Cotto seems like a pretty serious and level-headed guy, but how much of that seriousness and resolve can a man still posses after the kind of beating he took during that fight?

To all the Cotto fans, who would you like to see your man pinned up against? I would rather him take the remaining of the year off to heal and recuperate himself mentally and see where he wants to go from there. Would he be the same? would he still be an aggressor or would he take the boxer approach from now on as he did against a guy like Tony?

I actually felt sad for Cotto after rewatching the fight last night, the whole animosity I had towards him before the fight (mostly fueled by his ******ed ****-sucking fans that is) was pretty much thrown out of the window, I sympathize with him although I was more than happy to see Margarito win. I wish him the best and hopefully he can recoup and get in the ring again.

We won't know until he steps back into the ring, it was a brutal loss.

If he does decide to come back by the end of the year, I think he should take an easier fight to gain some confidence back.

        Great post.

I hope he doesnt fight until Feb 2009. I think a rematch with Zab would be good.

you're doing good with the situation my friend - good for you. i'll get an online support system going here soon.

i think he'll be fine, he got stopped by a man who blatantly conveyed that he wanted it more.

            good for margarito.

it was a tough loss but as long as he didn't get the fight beaten out of him ala meldrick taylor, he should be good. he just needs to recover mentally, and he will be fine
