it's because the contract stipulated that he had to wear winning gloves to the fight. marg would not fight him unless he wore winning gloves. if miguel had been allowed to wear his normal cleto-reyes gloves i'm sure marg would've been stopped. those pillows he was wearing for gloves really didn't allow marg to feel cotto's full power. if cotto is allowed to wear cleto-reyes gloves in the rematch i'm sure he'd ko marg.



on a side note: cotto was also bothered by foot problems during the fight. apparently the socks he wore were not thick enough and he developed blisters on his feet during the fight. this also contributed to his lack of movement in the later rounds. sources say he had blisters on his feet the size of golfballs.

I'm a huge Cotto fan and there is nothing you can take away from Margarito's victory. If Cotto doesnt have any excuses how can anyone else. The only thing that kind of bothers me is how the Marg fans are now saying Cotto quit.

I dont really understand how you can take anything from either fighter, they both put it all on the line and we and fans should be grateful to both fighters. The fans should see the class that both these fighters had through out the whole promotion and after and try to do the same. How can you hate on two warriors willing to fight anyone and put it all on the line.

Now that the dust has settled somewhat, I'm pretty much sick of all these diehard Cotto buttsmashingnakedbuttockfudging fans trying to take something away from Antonio. Cotto was beat down in a 12 round fight fair and square, deal with it.

There are no excuses, the better man won. I had picked Cotto, and though I had said I was on the fence about who to root for, found myself rooting for Cotto too. With that said, Im proud of Cotto and happy for Tony.

exactly Ichi no one is denying Marg the win or respect but people trying to say Cotto quit
