i agree with that, clottey was running that show and then *poof* suddenly no more offense. I seriously think clottey would have won that fight if he hadn't busted up his hand so badly.

that is, unless he beats Clottey and Williams. then I would have no right to bash the guy anymore. he's a limited fighter who only brings a chin to the table, but if that's enough to win, then what more do you need?

He loses the first few rounds, like most pressure fighters. He gets "smoking" (as Kellerman always says) and wears your ass down until you can't fight anymore. Then you either get knocked out, or are easy pickings for a decision win, because you don't have the strength or energy to keep up with Margarito in the late rounds.

It was expected for him to lose the first few rounds against Clottey, like it is expected for him to lose the first few rounds of any fight. If he is winning the first few rounds, that means he is fighting Kermit Cintron and the fight will be over very soon.
You would think that would be obvious by now, but some of these people just don't seem to get it. We always hear about the early rounds of the fight. If you don't get KO'd early the only thing that matters is the final result. Margarito can get the distance. Clottey is a five round fighter.

yup. with Cotto, you could see him slowing down each round as he got discouraged and realized he wasn't doing anything. but Clottey went from his best round to his worst round in the blink of an eye and it wasn't anything Margarito did (unless blocking punches with your face is considered a strategy now)

I completely understand that, but having an ungodly chin makes it a lot easier to have balls, don't you think? if Margarito had Cotto's chin, he wouldn't be macho at all. he's got no skill, no talent, nothing. I don't consider him a great fighter.

I do respect his work ethic though. He trains for 12 rounds and comes prepared knowing he'll be behind early

Isn't the end result all that matters?

dude balls and chin arent mutually exclusive. alot of guys are afraid to take such hard punches, the reason his chin is that good is because of his balls.
