Now that's a war? Who would you pick!
Prime tito @ 147 vs Margarito

It would be a great fight no doubt. I want to pick Trinidad but tbh I am just not sure he would be able to stand up to that kind of barrage and he isn't the greatest at avoiding shots. I would have to go with Margarito KO in the end I think. -
Trinidad would do worse against Margarito because he's so one-dimensional. Granted it'sa very good one dimension that worked for him his entire career (power puncher, always relying on the big shot). But he has no boxing fundamentals whatsoever. He doesn't have the ring smarts to do what Cotto did so well, to stick and move.
So if Tito couldn't hurt Tony, I see no way in hell he could beat him. Aside from his punching power, Trinidad really was a C level fighter. He made great highlight reel moments, but he has no answer for constant pressure, a solid jab, flurries, defense, offense, anything. He was just blessed to have taken the route he had taken.
And without the ring smarts to know how to get in and out while taking minimal punishment, you're ****ed if you fight Margarito. And Tito would be ****ed, badly.Comment

He has no answer for anything. Winky jabbed him into an offensive coma. Oscar teed off on him for 8 rounds consistently. Bernard Hopkins took his ass to school on every concievable level.
Tito's only weapon was his money punch.
His reputation preceeds him.Comment

I think Tito would take a worse beating than Miguel. I'm not on the Margarito bandwagon although I am a fan of his style. But Tony's chin is amazing, and I doubt even Tito could hurt him.

This is a top post. I agree with pretty much all of it really.
I love Tito and have all his fights on dvd. He was great to watch no doubt. Having said that I think you are correct in that I don't think he would be able to hurt Margarito enough to keep him off him. Tito was definately one-dimensional and whenever he came up against guys who were able to nulify that one dimension (B-Hop and Winky) he got a little exposed and was unable to deal with it. I think Margarito would just keep pouring forward and eventually overcome him with sheer volume of power shots. We all know Tito's chin wasn't rock solid so I think he would have some serious problems there.Comment
