OK so I've rewatched the fight acouple times now. Basically it's like this. Cotto played on the backfoot ala Floyd. He stuck on the ropes and countered effectively, ala Floyd. Cotto hits with POWER, unlike Floyd. Cotto is decently fast, Floyd abit faster but this doesn't matter. So now when Floyd attempts the exact same thing Cotto did, except with less power, brittle ***** hands, wtf will he do when Margarito hits anything he can on Floyd? He'll go to the body, the head, the side, uppercuts, everything. Floyd can block a decent amount, but not for a full 12 rounds. Muchless, the power Margarito brings is unlike anything he's felt for 12 rounds. I'm convinced Margarito would easily wear Floyd out just as he did Cotto except give Floyd less respect due to his lack of power.

floyd invented this style hit and don't get hit so you comparing cotto that it is the first time in his life that he fighting like this whole fight and floyd that fights like this every fight and was there with so many fighters that punch hard too.floyd has the best defence in the game and he much more quicker than cotto he would see all the punches than coming from margo,floyd would just outbox this guy cotto did it for the first 6 rd and then his gas off in the other side we all know that floyd's stamina is good and he will go 12 rd and win decision.

It should be obvious that power will not be the key to beating margarito. Someone who can do what Cotto did for the first 5-6 rounds will need to do it for 12 to win. Floyd can and his defense is better than Cotto's so he has a good chance of beating Margarito.
