No, I'll still be laughing at people like you that thought this was the guy that could beat Mayweather. I mean, you couldn't find anybody better to pick than this guy?

Class should have included an in-ring post-fight interview. I would have liked to have seen him do that. That is an established protocol for big fights.

Winky got crucified on here for leaving the ring in anger. Miguel left the ring in pain/tears.

i dont think he quit. I think what happened though was he knew the fight was over. He knew it was a matter of seconds before he got knocked out.

And he was just going through the motions of a desperate fighter. Trying to pull out every last stop to just hang on. I think he gave up trying to win the fight, and was probably just rying to hang on till the end of the fight.

I dont think he quit the fight in the sense that he wanted it to end right then and there though. Cotto has to much pride and to much of an ego to let that happen

So how did he quit exactly? Your observation that he took a second knee to signal surrender is a conjecture. If Cotto was ready to call it a day, he would have done it well before he nearly had his head taken off. You know, like that guy Freitas.

Gringo I tell you I was almost in tears walking down the AC boardwalk after the fight; this isn't Cotto hate. He backed from one corner to the other, taking no punches, and turned into a fetal position. That was the saddest moment I can think of as a sporting fan.

He's still the best fighter in the division in my estimation, but he didn't get counted out like a champ should.

Remind me again how that is not quitting?

dude he could probably STILL be Mayweather. Mayweather isnt THAT great of a fighter. Styles make fights and Cottos much smarter agression and stiff jab could definetly make Mayweather-Cotto a great fight.

Lets not forget the absolute brilliance Cotto showed in the first 6 rounds of that fight. he couldnt keep up the pace, but a fight with mayweather wouldnt be close to that type of pace.

A Mayweather-Cotto fight would be a matchup of skills, not a matchup of wills like this fight was.
