Its understandable, but Cotto was trying to do damage as Floyd was just trying to get points. Floyd fans are just trying to discredit Cotto for the fact that Cotto got in the ring with Marg where as Floyd stayed out.

    "b-b-b-but Floyd would embarrass Margarito"

    woulda, coulda, didnt.
you run from me worse than Cotto ran from Margarito

trying to pretend you have me on ignore now, wittle baby?

Very true, he doesn't get careless when he shouldn't as demonstrated in the DLH fight and goes all out when he can (gatti and Hatton), but when it comes to these welters he would have to take the cautios route and invest in winning points and rounds.

Just for the record, who would you pick in a Cotto Mayweather fight, despite last nights fight I think Cotto gained even more respect from me because of how much punishment he dished out and even absorbed. I think it will be a pretty even fight while giving floyd the slight edge. I'm now dying to see this fight, I think Floyd can't physically break Cotto as Margarito did and would make a hell of a fight.

Alot of fans here, they know who they are, talk about balls, talk about having them and this and that, but the reality is i think at this point mayweather probably realized that if he is going to be getting in the ring with these huge guys, hes not doing it without a reason, like i said, i think he knows deep down that these fights are phyisically taxing, it seems like at no point does mayweather ever get in there with someone his own size, and when he did, everyone whined (ricky hatton) after the fact, when if you remember, it was supposed to be hatton being the stronger guy.

My pick would be the same, while cotto would probably land his shots and have a few moments, unlike judah, cotto doesnt have that blinding speed to setup some vicious left or right straight down the pipe. Cotto would have to concentrate on body work, the problem is, mayweather doesnt give you a whole lot of body, also, people talk about cotto and his great timing, the problem is that mayweather never gets in a rhythm, half of the time hes just ****ing standing there waiting for you to do something. Either getting in his defensive shell or just standing there with his hands up. The "runner" bull**** is only a consensus among new boxing fans, if you know mayweather, most of the time hes just idly waiting.

Shane, Margarito Zab all have the same thing in common, they all landed the same **** over and over. Mayweather would shoot right hand leads that would land, throw short uppercuts that would land, and then come over the top with a right hook likely from the shoulder. Cotto bleeds alot also, mayweather would damage him, but like i said i think cotto would have his moments. We saw in the hatton fight, just like hopkins, mayweather needs no space to get off, he can just shoot punches from wherever he feels like.

Also, people run to the castillo fight, but that was in 2002, this is 2008, and 6 years later we never saw a close fight like that ever again, you cant run to one close fight and think its a blueprint when in a rematch and in subsequent career years, that **** was obviously in the past.

What i want to know is, if people say mayweather is a coward, a runner and a ducker, what would be the point of beating a retired coward?

The compubox stats say it all.

Very good analysis. The question about what's the point of fighting a coward goes out the window the second he Floyd makes the decision to fight Cotto, he loses that tag because he's taking the risk. The thing that makes me doubt the outcome you predict, but definitely not throw it out, is that I think there is a good chance Cotto is able to make it very physical or use his piston like jab, he is very versatile and would adapt. I would love to see it and could def see it playing out the way you stated I'd have it 60/40 for floyd, feeling floyd really can't discourage him the way Zab and Mosley couldn't.

Didn't Floyd outland DLH, baldo, etc?

..."trading left hooks" means that you are also eating some. I believe Mr. Mayweather opts for the "hit and not be hit" option.

Except he's too good to eat some. You're absolutely right, Floyd doesn't like being hit. He opts for the "I will punch you in the face, make you miss, and then punch you in the face again" option. That *****!
