you dont have to necessarily go toe to toe with somebody to go to the body. Their is such things as get in, get out.

The few times he came forward he backed Margarito up for a short period of time and kind of threw him off IMO. Sometimes the best defense is a good offense. Margarito fights much better coming forward and when fighters try and cover he just bashes away. I would force him backwards if at all possible and keep throwing punches in bunches.
Your tactic of beating Margaritois no good. Outboxing him is the key Cotto just doesn't know how to defend himself when his back is against the ropes. He didn't have the stamina and he didn't pop the jab when he was moving away. Mayweather is the only guy who can easily dominate Margarito IF THE MONEY IS RIGHT

And Cotto getting in and out was ok for the 1st 5 rounds but his getting in, is what got him hurt. Getting cornered got him hurt.

Simply, Margarito done enough on the night to win. With Cotto he took his usual rounds off and got punished for it this time, this fight was a fight of two halves, Cotto for half the fight was outstanding then Margarito and Margarito simply done more on the night.

The reason he lost was because he is not used to being pressured the way he was... usually when he is hitting an opponent the way he was hitting Tony last night they fold, but since Tony has a ****ing iron chin he was able to keep coming. I dont think Cotto knew how to react to that. Another reason is he got beat up... lol

Cotto's way of fighting Margarito DISGUSTED me. It was like they never watched a tape of Margarito in there whole 3 months of peperation.

Why was Cotto laying on the ropes the whole fight? That's the only place he could get hurt.

Why was he leaning forward the whole fight? They know Margo's best punch is a left uppercut

The whole "Miguel-Evangelista" feud must have been deeper than we thought. It's like they never sat down and strategized at all.

So I blame the Cotto camp for his loss to Margarito.
