he got hit while he was down, Quitto got robbed, Quitto Wins by Dq 11
Quitto remains perfect
hey dumb ass cotto was very low several times and its the refs job to come in after cotto went down he was slow in doing so and its a judgement call. Second bayles is one of the best referees in the sport and did a great job, your an idiot for questioning his performance. Third a fighter is only disqualified if he hits the guy while he is down and the receiving fighter is not able to continue due to that blow. EDUCATE YOURSELF! now log off and disappear for a while sore loser! Take the beating like a man cotto has not made one excuse it's funny losers like you make them for him.
the more i see that clip the more i have to say it was UN-intentional by margarito.
think of how fast that happened in real time; then add in the adreneline (sp???) that margarito must have felt during the fight.
it was an illegal blow...it was late...but wasnt SO late that it was intentional.
a stricter ref may have warned him...and at the MOST took a point...or took a point for the two low blows...but even so margarito would have still won the fight even if two points were lost on penalties because he stopped cotto...cotto could have won EVERY round up until he was stopped...it wouldnt have made a difference.
the only arguement i can see being valid is if the ref allowed cotto 5 mins to recover...then i can see some arguing he would have made it to the final bell and possibly earned a victory...
even if the ref gave him 5 mins...he still had to win the last two round to earn a victory because after 10 two refs had it 96-94 for margarito...
so cotto would have to win the remander of the 11th...making it:
105-104 for margarito...
then cotto would have to have won the 12th...
making it 114-114...
so it would have been a majority draw unless a point WAS taken away...then cotto would have won 114-113...on two scorecards...
point is i can see why some are mad he wasnt allowed 5 mins...thats the only arguement i see.
but i dont think ANY ref in their right mind would DQ a fighter for that late illegal blow by margarito in a fight of that caliber...i can see it for some fighter fighting a 4 round fight and its his 3rd pro fight or something not as important but NOT on a major ppv fight.
thats why margarito wasnt charged with the low blows... but warned...
cotto did lose a point against zab but those were just low...they were right on the cup...unintentional or not...those are what you would call SERIOUS low blows...
like i said i can see a point deduction in the most severe of cases but even so at that point i believe cotto was too far gone to have won another round.
So obvious to anyone with any boxing knowledge what so ever that he held the punch back and there was no menace in the punch what so ever, Cotto got his ass handed to him as I predicted, plain and simple over rated like so many fighters out there, no heart and no balls. Jeff (no left hook) Lacy springs to mind.
