Was Cotto prepared for a long drawn out fight? No disrespect to Cotto but no!

fIRST SMART POST ABOUT THE FIGHT i'VE SEEN.....

COTTO GOT TIRED AND WASN'T READY....

in rematch with margo he wins because he paces and boxes more like rounds 1-7 which people are for some reason ignoring.

Cotto adjusted his pace to Margarito's pace, instead of trying to dictate the pace himself, this wore Cotto out. Cotto was landing bombs on Margarito. He was not conserving any kind of energy for the later rounds. To be honest, after the 4th round I looked at my friend and said "if Cotto doenst slow down, he's going to run out of gas".... he did.

Exactgly, and he did not go to the body for fear of being hit. You have to go to the body in all fights. He also has to find a better way to rest on defense. More upper body movement. He had good defense, but not along the ropes where Margs used his monster triple uppercut which busted Cotto up.

This seems like a good thread with a lot of thinking and no PWnage:!@$!#$ . I will ask this here.

            1) Anyone else feels that if Cotto limited himself to 1-2 at most 3 punches combos, instead of going for 4-5 power shots, he would have done better?

            2) If he used the jab like a jab and did not make a power shot out of it would have served him better at the end of the day

              1) maybe on occasions towards the end of the round he could do that.. but for most of the figght 1-2-3's would have been ok.

              2) if he would have jabbed he would have def won this fight UD. as long as he kept moving like he was rounds 1-7

Shane showed us a bit of this, and Margs finished it off. Cotto is a converted southpaw. Maybe he should've stayed that way. Cotto, when under pressure, could not use his speed advantage and use defense the way Floyd does against bigger men. Cotto became a sitting duck. Cotto has never fought in a long drawn out fight. He might've even been winning, and crumbled the minute he got hurt. Instead of holding, I think his pride got the better of him.
what bigger men are you referring to. Dela and Baldo?
