WTF Happened to MARGARITOS defense???

Against Williams, he was picking off A LOT of the punches with his freakin gloves. Thats hard to do and he was doing very often. I still think he lost that fight but he defense was very good.

This time though, he just got his ass beat up early on. Its almost like he didnt have any defense at all. Everything Cotto threw was landing flush on Margaritos face.

Its really Ironic because Margarito looked like a much more talented fighter when he was fighting Williams, yet he lost that fight and beat Cotto.

Definitely true, Margarito was not the total package last night by any means, and looked very slow in some of the opening rounds.
But the bottom line is that he won, and he won because defense is negligable if you have a chin like that.

Cotto is fast with short combos.

He picked some shots good but Cotto is a much better combo puncher than Williams, so he landed his fair share.

Williams was slapping his jab like a *****, not very hard to block with your gloves. Although I think Margarito has a very underrated defense, Cotto's shot were more precise and quick aimed straight to Tony's chin, a big difference in punchers between Cotto and Williams.

He was holding his right low and close to his body for obvious reasons. Body shots take more out of you than punches to the head especially if you have a solid chin like Margarito. I bet he was surprised himself that Cotto didn't try to left hook his body because he was ready to counter with the left uppercut when Cotto leans in to hit him there.
