This is still bad for boxing fans....Bob Arum

In the end I feel Bob Arum made a mistake. He made a mistake for both fighters.Don't get me wrong props to MArgarito. But at the end of the day he destroyed his cash cow and I believe also hurt Marg.

Think about it now Cotto has lost some of his creditibility,Mystique as the unbeaten warrior.Marg has now moved to a level where he is on top of the world and deserves to be dont get me wrong. But at the end of the day Margarito will still be left in the dark with no one to fight.Cotto will be on a long road to recovering after this loss.

There will still be no Mayweather,Moselys or Judahs left or willing to fight Marg. With Oscars retirement right around the corner all there is is paul williams and maybe a Cotto rematch.A Paul Williams rematch would be a big match but not quite as big as some people seem to think it would be.Then what??where next?

Hey I felt so happy for Marg last night after he won even being the huge Cotto fan I am.But I think Arum made a bad move here....

    What do you guys think???

I agree. It would have been better for boxing and Arum himself if Cotto won but I'm still very happy for Marg and he deserved this break.

fight last night was a gift to the fans okay u may not see it that way now but if cotto woulda koed the tough margarito he woulda been rised to even more stardom
arum also didnt know cotto was going to lose but he already commented the ppv sales are great and surpassed his expectations
so no it wasnt a mistake

did u see the fans chanting at las vegas it was crazy margarito is the new star of the welterweight division and im sure arum is gonna take margarito seriously this time and TRY to make him the next chavez

cotto is not by any means done rican fans are extremely loyal and at his comeback bout u will see hes still a star, more importantly cotto is good and will bounce back
so now arum has 2 welterweight superstars
imo the last thing he should do if match them up togheter in a trilogy and take years off this guys careers specially cotto

It was a bad move for Miguel Cotto's career. He'll never be the same again.

Arum should have had Margarito defend his IBF title against Clottey, but he wants Clottey to win a title.

It was a great move because Cotto wasn't drawing with Mosley, with Judah but if he drew great against Margarito that means that Mexicans have finally learned to appreciate Tony, and others will hear about Tony. Puertoricans are great fans but they were only huge in numbers when it came to Tito.

Mexicans have shown enormous support to more than just one fighter, maybe that's it to Puerto Rico being smaller but hey life is unfair u know.

it is unfortunate for him that the biggest money (sorry the biggest likely money, i dont consider odlh likely) is a rematch with cotto, and that wont happen for a fair while. Hatton margo would be huge but i doubt hatton would take that fight, and williams is no ticket seller.

In no way is it bad to have the best fighting the best though, it would have been ridiculous to see 2 brilliant fighters at the same weight, both in their primes and not fighting eachother

How is it bad for boxing when the superior boxer gets the recognition he deserves? Besides, Margarito wasnt a big name in Mexico before this fight. I'm sure Mexican fans will be following his career closely after this win.
