Lately, there have been some pretty BIG fights that were being tossed around lately. Now, out of the list, which fight would you wanna see, if you could only see one of them.
HATTON - COTTO
The fight would be between two former highly-touted former undefeated fighters who both lost the biggest fights of their lives, relatively recently for both of them. It would be a nice fight to have happen if Cotto could come back with a tune-up and show that he's still got plenty left. Depending on where they fight (in terms of weight), no title would be on the line, most likely.
PACQUIAO - DE LA HOYA
De La Hoya wants to go out with a ****. At this point, this might be the biggest fight for him. This would be his sixth (or so.. Lol.) number one p4p fighter that he's faced and it would be incredible for his resume, depending on how the fight plays out. Pacquiao would get his biggest payday, and would have to jump an entire weight class and gain 12 or so pounds to do it. It would be an incredible fight, regardless.
MAYWEATHER - MARGARITO
Now that Margarito has the big name scalp that he once lacked, this fight is technically a bit more of a draw. A lot more Mexicans believe in Margarito, and Mexicans alone can make a fight big, along with Mayweathers following. Mayweather would be coming out of 'retirement' for this one and both would have just had very impressive wins. It would be for TRUE welterweight supremacy.
KLITSCHKO - HAYE
Maybe not the EXACT superfight, but this the best fight possible in the Heavyweight division. Both have the capacity to be stopped and both have tremendous power. Haye is moving up and would be challenging the mostly recognized TRUE Heavyweight champion. Most fights with a (relatively) long0reigning champion, facing the young, brash, undefeated champion who's coming up for the fight... That sells.
PAVLIK - ABRAHAM
This is the only fight between TRUE middleweights that can be made that anyone really cares about. In the boxing worlds second historical division, perhaps behind welterweight, fights like this excite fans with nostalgia alone. Furthermore, one has very good defense and the other has a great offense. One has HUGE power, the other has the faster, shorter punches. Both are undefeated and one is the true middleweight champion. GREAT fight to be made.
PACQUIAO - HATTON
Pacquiao has so many options, and this was one of the better options. He'd have to move up 5 pounds and face the true champion, who only has one loss. Though, one might be able to make the case that Hatton has begun to slide, he's still a bigger guy, and both are willing to lay it on the line. Hatton would be facing his second p4p number 1 guy. This fight would bring in a worldly feel, and it would be fun to watch if Manny can stick and move.
DE LA HOYA - COTTO
The Mexican/Puerto Rican thing usually sells. Add to that De La Hoya's fanbase aswell as Cotto's fairly sizeable fanbase, and you have a MEGAFIGHT. Both have great technique and both CAN be hurt. Both can throw nice combinations, and can brawl when need be. Cotto is WAY closer to his prime, but De La Hoya is a harder puncher. It has the makings of a good fight. It would get Cotto on the right track with a solid win in such a big fight.
MONTIEL - MIJARES
I get that this isn't the biggest fight. I realize some might not even give a **** about this fight. But, when you TRULY follow boxing, you realize how explosive such a fight would be. It's essentially the best fight to be made below 122. The boxer with combinations against the puncher with stiff, hard shots. Both have some recent great wins, one is ranked in the top 10. GREAT fight to be made.
