IF hatton senses that he cannot knockout a boxer, he will not try to knock him out, he will go for the points victory. This is evidence in for example, collozo, tackie, urango fights etc... he sensed he couldn't knock them out, so try to go to the points victory. Lazcano was a different story, lazcano looked like he was ready to go since round 1, so hatton tryed his hardest to knock him out, but lazcano hadn't been floored in his career. (hatton said he could of got a points victory easily).

Now look at miguel cotto, he tryed to knock antonio out since round one, but his punches were bouncing off him.. what does he do? does he play tactically? defensivly? no.. he trys to knock him out!

Naseem hamed, hyped up bout his power... against barerra, does he try to play tactically? no... he just goes for the knock out.

these are the things you need to look in for a boxer, ricky will prob be able to knock out paulie by his work-rate, body shots I believe as paulie only has a proven chin, not a proven body.

Hes an average fighter...thats it.

I disagree. Hatton in the first three rounds is a better, more skilled fighter than Cotto, sadly his defense is not up to much and he lacks stamina, so his skill rarely counts these days.

Most of the time you post sensible boxing info but to suggest Hatton is more skilfull than Cotto is absurd.

Oddly enough I checked his record just for you and found nothing but bums. He should've lost the Collazo fight, looked horrible against Urango, beat a 389 year old Castillo, and got KTFO by the best fighter in the world. Then went on to get a decision against a lower level journeyman who had him rocked several times.

Hatton is not a bum like people are saying, but he would lose to Cotto every day of the week, and badly.

I also disagree with the people saying Hatton ducks fighters, he wouldn't have picked a shot against Mayweather..moving up in weight if he was a ducker. You can't fight everyone. If you want to rip on a british boxer that ducks people -- then look no further, Joe Calzaghe is where its at, the most overrated fighter of this generation.

Hatton wouldn't step two feet near Cotto or Marg.Please don't give me that bull**** weight excuse because Hatton was a welterweight before he stepped in the ring with Mayweather and now he was too small even tho all of his camp said Mayweather wasn't strong enough for Ricky.Mayweather has took more risks than Hatton in his career by moving up from super feather all the way to jr middle.Floyd has been smaller than most of his opponents and Hatton moves up one weight class than complains about being too small.Mayweather's resume is leagues above Hatton's.The funny thing is Floyd offered Hatton a fight at 140 but Grahm turned it down.If Mayweather isn't a fighter how come Ricky's head bounced off the turnbuckle right before his corner threw in the towell.

buddy are you ****ing high?i said Mayweather turned down Cotto and Marg, and if he truly was the best he would of fought them, or he will come out of retirement to fight them. I didnt say anything about Hatton fight Cotto or Marg, but he wouldnt back down.im not saying Hatton is better then Mayweather , i wouldnt because mayweather is way better.
