When you have a pressure fighter that is relentess like that, then you will need to land something big to get his respect and Mayweather does not have a punch at welterweight.

For the person that told me to look at what happened in first 6 rounds with Cotto, Margarito is a slow starter and he was just warming up by 6th round. Hes one of those fighters that gets stronger as the rounds went on. At first, i thought that Margarito was just a wide open ****er, but he was getting full leverage on those power punches and was using his reach when he had Cotto on the ropes to land his power punches. If Mayweather struggled with Oscar's reach, then he would have problems with Margarito's IMO. Even years back before this fight, i have always new that he would give Mayweather hell. I'm not saying he would beat Floyd, but he is very dangerous and would be one of Floyd's harder fights.
floyd doesnt need margs respect to beat him... floyd could lightly jab him all night....

and those slower flurrys wouldnt land at all on floyd... and floyd wouldnt get tired either

the only thing floyd would have against him in this fight would be lay off

No, Cotto could have. And it'll never happen now.

You mean win easily and then get robbed on the score cards?

              I hope not...

I didn't say that Margarito would beat him, i just think that it wouldn't be the walk in the park that many people expect it to be and Margarito actually has a good shot. IMO he avoided him for a reason. His style is dangerous and a risk to Mayweather becuase boxers like that needs thier room to move and Margarito doesn't give you that.

You have to be a fighter that mixes boxing ability with thier educated pressure like a young Roberto Duran or Miguel Cotto. That is what threw Mayweather off when he fought Castillio and De La Hoya.
historically in this era, Vernon Forrest of old i think is one of the few WW i think mayweather has no shot against, his style would be a nightmare and hes too big.

if by "castillo" mayweather, you mean floyd hurting his brittle hands during the fight, then yes he could.

Well Castillo LOST both times so in that respect, yea. Margarito AINT no Castillo. Floyd is just too fast, to agile and too GOOD to get beat by Slowgarito. He'd hit Marg 4 times before it even registers in Margs head to throw back.
