I agree with your uncle, Quitto is done for. Did you see how he walked out of the ring immediately without giving an interview? He's shocked and completely embarassed, I don't know if he would even dare go back to Puerto Rico.

His reaction leads me to believe this may have messed him up mentally. We shall see...

Margarito was just too much for him, but yeah, he can come back. Cotto has tremendous heart and now we will see how great he really is.

            I voted "time will tell".

I saw signs in the fourth or fifth round he would probably get stopped before the night was over. The frustration was on Cotto's face; he gave Margarito his best shots and the guy wouldn't quit. Reminded me a lot of Taylor/Pavlik I; there was a sense of destiny that the undefeated would be defeated and the bigger, more determined man would win the fight.

It's got to be hard to recover mentally from a loss like this... I mean, Margarito basically showed Cotto that being the better boxer doesn't always win you the fight... you can train and train and train, be very fundamentally sound, be strong and in great shape... but if you are not the tougher, more determined man, you will eventually get beat.

If Roy can come back from two brutal KO's and regain some of what he had, Cotto can surely do it.

It's just tough though. He can't beat Tony he's just too big. His ego is what's gonna hurt. Especially once the hype begins for Williams vs. Margarito 2. Because he was only a round a half away from gutting out a war with Margarito. This win would have been monumental for Cotto especially how things transpired. He pushed his skills to the limit and came up short.

It has to be tough to give your absolute best and it still not be enough.

                    cotto will be fine.

he didn't make any mistakes that weren't fixable.

                    he's 27.

he won 4 of the 1st 5 rounds in my book and he showed he is far more skilled than marg like we thought.

if they rematch cotto will win it. i'll be betting on cotto the next time around.

cotto will learn how to clinch better rather than let marg tee off.

cotto will go forward more. he made a mistake of waiting for marg to come in. he should have burst forward , get out before marg gets to retaliate then popshot marg coming at him as well. forward , back out before marg retaliates then catch marg coming in , excape and go forward again and repeat. he made the mistake of constantly going backwards.

cotto ud12 over marg in the rematch.
