I was still a fan after the Santos fight and after the Williams fight.I will give Cotto credit if he wins but i will still be a Margarito fan.

Maybe I'm just nostalgic but I remember these forums were a lot better in the first year I was here. I wouldn't post too much at first, mostly because I hadn't seen as much as some of the other posters (usually with regards to older fights), now I don't post as much because using logic or being rational has gone out of style and been replaced with nationalism. Not all posters are garbage, but many are.

Trust me mate its difficult to find a boxing fan on here who doesnt have there own agenda, Nationalism has taken over most of the boxing fans on here, Its difficult for anyone one of them to be objective without there judgement been clouded by one thing or the other.

to be honest back then it was still pac vs the mexicans in alot of ways, however this place is bigger now, more users, with any forum that grows, more and more people come, back then you had cats like IWATCHBOXING and DR CYNICAL and a bunch of other characters, but there were probably alot more rational people then i agree, however you have to factor in 2 things

1. A fighter who is so good and such an ******* and such a buisnessman whos skills are so good they cant be denied (floyd), until he gets beaten it will NEVER end. Seriously, until roy got KTFO it was the same **** on here.

2. This place is bigger, with more users now than ever, and with any board, the good people are going to be driven away by the mass invasion of newer people, this happened on every single board i have been on since probably 1996. from usenet to AOL. to IRC even.

There are some people who just wanna push buttons, there are some people who cant get their hatred of a fighter out of their system, or hatred of a certain country.

How many times did you see a fan of a fighter discuss "blacks run all the time" how many times do you see "all mexicans do is take punches to the face, they are tough but ******" etc

You get people who are so in love with one style that they basically disown every other style. Granted i like defensive movers and counterpunchers, i am not going to completely rip on another nation and its civilians because of it, but thats what you get, a thread about mayweather can easily turn into a thread about black people being cowards, whiners and lazy.

A thread about margarito turned into mexicans being illegal disgusting poor pieces of ****. A thread about pac turned into a thread about whores, ******ation and being poor. This is what kills these threads and this board and the moderators are completely responsible for that, there arent enough mods.

Before there was alot less of this, even Mckay and his *** hating was fairly restrictive, but imagine 20 Mckays for every nation on here and you get a whole lot of what you see right now.
