Margarito vs Cotto Analysis

joartcc you are one of the great posters on the boxing scene but i am disappointed your picking cotto.

Understand this has nothing to do with personal taste.

If it's all about PERSONAL views without logic.

Then Im for Margarito 100 fcking percent.

But as a fightfan you have to respect and recognize Cotto's speed, his power, his will to win.

And so far this has been proven against top guys.

I don't care much for Cotto but I give Cotto the SLIGHTEST of margins because he has better speed than Margarito.

And to my book SPEED is the top factor for victory in boxing.

compa i see it the same way. cotto is faster but we are not taking about blazing speed. cottos game is more about power than speed and thats why margarito has to be careful because a cotto body shot could end the fight.

if speed kills then judah would have beat zoo and cotto.

And this is the reason why I put Cotto above Marg but only through the SLIGHTEST of margins.

It's not like Cotto has a huge advantage on Marg.

hey man i respect your opinion but i just dont think cotto is ready for margaritos power stamina chin and volume of punches. cotto will be overwhelmed.

Cotto's accuracy will only be a factor if he can consistently dish out punishment without taking too much from Marg or he does so whilst evading majority of bombs coming from Marg.

Well the answer to DLH having stamina is obviously no... he has never had the stamina.

So... that fight can be viewed as a timebomb for Oscar... He is a junior middleweight, and can likely KO Pacquiao (even though Pacquiao has a killer chin), but if Pacquiao can avoid that, and heap on punishment enough to start slowing Oscar down and sapping his little bit of energy, Pacquiao is likely going to cruise to a decision victory.

It's a pretty interesting concept of a fight really.
