People talk crazy amounts of **** about Lacy, but the facts are simple. Jeff Lacy was a VERY good fighter. But, Jeff Lacy received a career ending beating at the hands of Joe Calzaghe.

If anyone is trying to say that Lacy would have had even the slightest of problems dominating Peter Manfredo before the Calzaghe fight, they have no idea what they are talking about.

Jeff wasn't p4p material or anything, but he WAS a very good fighter.

I agree, he was a good fighter pre-Calzaghe, it's hard for a fighter to recover from the type of beating he took against Calzaghe.

As the saying goes, you're only as good as your last fight.

good, yet stil over-hyped. he hadn't fought anybody yet really. he just got attention cause of the manner in which he finished folks. kos are always received with lots of excitement and his case, hype.

still calzaghe beat the **** out of him and ruined any potential there was for him becoming a 'very good fighter'. he never had 'elite' or 'great' potential imo though.

He was over hyped phenomenally by the American media but he didn't look as bad as he has in his last 3 fights pre-Calzaghe when he fought better fighters so it just makes sense that the beating he took at the hands of Calzaghe took a lot away from him.
