i honestly just think erik and alexis realized they just didn't have it anymore..... i don't think they were concerned about their health they just had nothing left.

erik has one of the most durable chins ever......if he got up after that 2nd knockdown how many more times would he have gotten hurt or knockdowned before they stopped it? manny wasn't gonna knock him out cold. NO ONE KNOCKS MORALES OUT COLD!

well man.. if you accept that u have nothing left... or just realize theres no way you can win.... why risk your health??? this is boxing... a one lucky punch can hurt u for good..... for me is not being a coward....is just being smart....

anyway.. it all depends on the case.. but like i say.... health b4 anything.....
ppl tend to say that they own it to the fans.. and all that ****.. but **** that..
none of us.. are the one that are risking their life....non of us... wake up @ 4 am to go out and run and all that... so go to disagree...

Quitting is unacceptable. Fans don't wanna watch fighter to quit.

Erik Morales though DID NOT QUIT!

There's a big difference between "did not" and "could not". Morales could not get up when Pacquiao knocked him down for the 3rd time in MP-EM3.

Notice how Vic Drakulich assisted Morales right after the fight?...

When the ref declared the fight over, Morales got up on his feet, and he almost went down again because of his shakey legs. Fortunately the ref was there to help him.

erik was eating a lot of shots.

i don't see much difference in his situation and kostya's and arguello's.

look at his face when he was on the floor. he knew he had nothing left.

that's why he was shaking his head. he knew there was no point in getting up.
Kostya was hurt, I don't believe Erik really was. He looked fine sitting there on the canvas shaking his head.

If every boxer quit when they were hurt it would not be much of a sport.

ok. that's fine if that's what you think erik was thinking but is it wrong?

who would know better if he's had enough and no point in going anymore?

the boxer or his corner , ref or doctor?

in judo or brazilian jiu-jitsu it's okay to quit before getting seriously hurt. mma also has the tap principle of those 2 combat sports.

why is it so wrong for a boxer to quit?

how many times have we seen a guy go out another round and he has that look of "i hope the ref stops this soon" or "when is my corner gonna throw in the towel"?

those 3 would've continued hurt......hurt is not the problem with those 3 examples.

they quit because they had nothing left. there's a difference with the two.
