Boxers fight for the biggest paydays unless they have to fight against a mandatory challenger (or they were guided to a smaller payday because of ****ty advice like JMM vs Chris John). The fighters we commonly consider to be "true warriors" because of their choice of oponents (Holy, SRR, Hearns, Duran) and never "ducking anybody" simply fought the best competition available because the best competition available also was the biggest pay day at the time.
Ray Robinson once said, You show me a fighter who passes on big money to fight a tougher challenge for less money, I'll show you a fool." The other fighters I mentioned have also made similar statements.Comment

They have to sign on to fight before they'll talk about money. But I think the consensus is that Lacy vs Taylor will be more lucrative all the way around than Froch vs Taylor.
Lou DiBella said (so take it for what it's worth) HBO is pushing for Taylor vs Lacy instead of Taylor vs Froch. So it's not like Jermain is choosing his opponents anyway. Few boxers are in the position to dictate who their next fight will be against. Yet we tend to **** on fighters for their choice of opponents, even though the promoters, networks, managers, and Oscar's wife have more say so in who fight who than the fighters do. lolComment

How does Lacy get another big bout! He barely got past Manfredo and got destroyed by the slapper! I'm hoping he loses 2nite so we can see how good these Euro guys claim to be or will we have more of the same!Comment
